Description
====It was there, on the hilly slope of the path to the alchemy ovens, that she realized she probably should've taken her comrade's advice and just stayed home. Or maybe even her husband's suggestion that she wear something 'more appropriate'.
But Selithia was always a stubborn one. 'In your condition,' they scoffed. Hah! What did they know? She was a hero of renown! Selithia, Who Saved the Goddess! Selithia, the Shadow Hero! Selithia, the Wine God, but that wasn't nearly as relevant outside of Vales. And maternity or no, she took a lot of pride in her body. Why dress like a tent when there's no reason not to look like a total bad-ass?
And besides, she was already a mother of two. A regular professional at this sort of thing. If anyone knew her real limitations, it would be the green-haired warrior herself. Or so she thought.
'Dammit, how didn't I see this coming?' she thought, grimacing as a contraction twisted her abdomen into knots. Sure, the back pain could have been anything, especially this late in the game. But she sure as hell should've noticed that she sprung a leak for damned good reason. She had always prided her luck in the pregnancy bladder department.
But she pressed on anyway. Shadow Tailteann was almost cleaned out, and she never abandoned a mission if she was still standing.
Perhaps it was the adrenaline, or the constant charging into battle, but Selithia never really clicked all the pieces together until she was forced to stand still and focus intensely in building a Fireball spell before the enemy noticed her.
It was impossible. Before she could gather enough mana into her wand, a spasm would run circles around her back and stomach, tightening her already taut, full midsection, and ripping her concentration away entirely. Amniotic fluid was starting to pool slowly between her feet, mixing with the reddened soil of the path, a testament to just how long she'd been unable to fire off her spell.
Finally, she gave up. It was a miracle that none of the archers prowling the road had noticed her, and she wasn't about to press her luck any further. Quietly, slowly, and awkwardly, she waddled her way back down the route she had followed to get here, hoping that, if anything, the church in this twisted mirror of Tailteann was abandoned, and stocked with any sort of supplies.
"Why did it have to be twins?" she asked, grimacing and clutching her gravid stomach. She shoved open the church door with her shoulder and hoped for the best. She hadn't capped her First Aid skill yet, after all...

I think I hit the magic belly ratio on this one.

I can't believe I didn't comment on this before. This is really cute, well done. You managed to make it not look totally terrible or a legitimately bad situation for her. Good job.

I'm having trouble thinking of a worse time to have a baby, and all I'm coming up with is "while piloting an airplane".

The worst time could also be while driving a semi down a freeway.

In Mabi, I think a Peaca run would be the worst time to have a baby.
Eternal life would be something I think they'd want and possessions always ends up with someone dieing.
I figure it'd be like Pet Cemetery.

All she needs is a hellhound skull and some of Manus' disinfectant and she'll be fine.
