Description
Well, gotta do at least one real deviation to start off the month. For whatever reason, the topic of Monica from Dark Cloud 2 being pregnant came up the other day. And, here we are. It's a rare case of me drawing a character I'm really unfamiliar with. However, I happen to really enjoy her character design, and I figured it'd be worth a shot.
Eventually I'll get farther into this game than that first forest area, I swear. Mark Hamill plays an evil clown in it, so, it HAS to be continually awesome.
The fullview here isn't the actual fullview. I don't have any programs that'll smoothly shrink my pictures down on this lappy yet, so, I had to leave the cropped raw dimensions. If you wanna see this at 1500xwhatever, you'd have to use the ol' Download button. But, heck, 800xwhatever is enough, right?
As for the title....well, hell, the game involves time travel, right? And there've been much worse excuses to suddenly make a girl pregnant in this community. So this way I can explain away the picture AND make a Metal Gear reference. Good times all around!
Also, first time using Prismacolors as opposed to Crayolas. I really wish I had more than the 24 colors. Obviously I don't know how to blend yet.
Monica (C) Level 5, possibly Sony?
Fanart is cluelessly *HidonRedux 's.

Dude, you totally stole my idea! ^_^ Ah, I don't mind. You probably did a better job of it than I could have. Hee hee. And really, I was probably never gonna get to it anyway. ^_^ Though this has given me an idea for a silly little comic, if I could ever draw Max and Monica properly...

Did you get the idea before or after I mentioned it? ^_^ But like I said, I really don't care that much. ^_^ I probably wasn't going to in the end, anyway. Hee hee hee. I just like being a pest, that's all. ^_^ You should know that by now.

I like the outfit too. You're getting much better at drawing clothing. The only problem is that the top looks a little too small for her, hee hee.

Hey the coloring's not too bad, I like her outfit.
Maybe try smearing the colors with Q-Tips or your finger? I'm not sure. I've never worked with Prismacolors. o.0

CRAYOLAS? My god, that expains so much.
Dude. Seriously. This is why your sketches look so much better to you than your finished pictures. If you want a crayon picture to look professional, you have to BE a professional.
Stick to the colored pencils if at all possible, and if you run out, just ink in black and white-- you'll like your art so much better that way. Less disgusting wax-warty texture, less loss of detail, sharper stylus, everything. Crayons look good in coloring books, and on the paper tablecloth at the Macaroni Grill-- and not much else.

Ah, no, I definitely don't use crayons. I use their brand of colored pencil. Of the cheap stuff available to me, Crayola Colored Pencils only win out because they seem to fill better, sharpen with less breaking, and the colors just seem to be much more vibrant than, say, Rose Arts.
However, the Prismacolors are already working out a hell of a lot better. The leads don't vanish nearly as quickly, and they sharpen about the same. (That is to say, with a weak sharpener, the lead only breaks and falls out of the wood 90% of the time instead of 100%.) Now the only problem is affording the damn things. Which I can't, really.
I guess it does say quite a lot that my old colored pencil work looks more like crayon than anything else. It's a long road ahead, aye?
