yeah, I dunno what to say after a your welcome... speaking of which, I have no idea how to say your welcome in french!!! Its awkward cause I looked in my tour book and they don't have it in there and whenever a canadian says merci I can only nod...

You know what you could've done? Gone to poland and learned polish to speak fluently with kev when you got back. It would've gotten so awkward

Well since not a lot of countries speak Dutch alot of Dutch speak English because it is a universal language apparently....but they did have accents..which were hard to understand

funny accents eh? would've wanted to hear those but I get enough with my Russian french teacher...
and the people in Canada, apparently they have to learn english along with french in school up to a certain grade level, so basically everyone knew how to speak a little bit of english. And what was more helpful was the guy at the counter for our hotel spoke english, french, and was learning japanese too XD

Thats cool....there was someone on a tour with us that lived in Tokyo and he spoke French, English, Japanese, and some Dutch

also my tour guide for stone henge spoke french, german, english, spanish, french, italian, and a dialect of zulu <- (south african language...he used to live there)
