Description
Well, this turned into lot more personal piece than I first intended. The saying "a tug at the heartstrings" came to my mind and I wanted to illustrate it literally (in a negative manner). Basically this is about fear of opening your heart to anyone because they might tear your heart apart. Inner turmoil, depression, numbness and so. I know, very uplifting stuff.
But you could see this in the opposite way as well, maybe the hand is repairing his heart.
And for f's sake, I think I sewed just that heart-part for at least six hours. How is that even possible?!
Clearly I'm crap at sewing. I also postponed and postponed working on this more than it's allowed. Sleeping seemed more interesting.---------------------------
Pencil, watercolours, white gouache, handmade paper, sewing thread, Mouliné yarn and glue.

I really love this piece--the colors and the multi-media design work so well. Add to that the fact that he bears an uncanny resemblance to a person I used to have an open heart to.

this is awesome ! I love the idea, and you did the sewing-part very well. The "opening" through the torso to the heart is beautifuly made, it looks invasive and painful. I also love the way you mixed traditional drawing with the use of the strings. The idea behind is also very touching, I think we all have (or will have) a period in our lives during which we felt torned appart, and need to be sewed back on

I definetely needed to do this piece right now. There's nothing better than being able to let out those repressed feelings that have been bothering for so long. Damned, getting teary-eyed once again...It's okay though.

Vau.. Tää vetää aika hiljaiseksi.
Oon ihaillu sitä miten tunnut keksivän aina jonkin ihan uuden tavan tehdä taidetta ja aaaah, sulla on niin paljon mielikuvitusta ja ideoita.
Toisaalta voin kuvitella että tätä on ollut tosi rankka tehdä, monellakin asteella.
Mutta nuo langat näyttää upeilta. Kaikki värit sopii hyvin yhteen ja pidän myös tuosta intensiivisestä katseesta.

Tämmöistä projektia minä olin kaivannut jo pitkään. Tein sitä tämän viikonlopun ajan varsin intensiivisesti. Nälkä ja jano motivoi etenemisessä.
