Whoa cool... nice job. I agree that the white could've been toned down a smidge.. but apart from that it's great. The shadows on the face are very well done

WOW! Is this bristol board or canson paper?
A great self-portrait. I think that the white could have been eliminated as a whole if the paper had been toned before with something like another color conte or charcoal and conte. However, since that is not the case I think it is a wonderfully done piece.

i think self-portraits are always the toughest...
great job, tho - colors are good, maybe a little too strong on the white, and the shadow from the specs seems a bit overdone to me. i think the hair, the nose, and the overall outlines turned out well; the weakest point is the eyes (but eyes are prolly the tuffest feature). the symmetry really is pretty good.
