Hello folks! Before I return to commissions again, here's a new drop for Red Sand to those who follow my art and story. This one took a while so, hope you enjoy! I shall return again with some new damsel commission work

The party descends into the heavily engraved ruins. Despite the deterioration and crumbling inflicted by the passage of time, Saffiya awed at the overall structural integrity the place still retained. The material of the ruins weren't merely sandstone or limestone, perhaps even stronger than granite. There was wear and tear, of course, but no signs that the place would fall under them anytime soon. The metal artifacts uncovered were a mix of bronze and silver, engraved with the occasional garnet or ruby. Sprawled out weapons made of obsidian hinted at a battle before the place fell into decline.

Janaan: Well hello!

Saffiya: What is it Janaan?

Janaan: Come to momma. Look at these daggers, boss.

Aerie: Obsidian daggers. Just like the ones from my people.

Saffiya: Incredible...the grips are rusted but the blades...they're still somehow intact. And they're ow! Still sharp.

Halla: Oh gosh! Here Saffiya, let me heal that.

Saffiya: It's ok, Halla. Just a scratch. Save your mana.

Janaan: Light, fast, easy grip. Fire-girl, you said your people make these?

Aerie: Er, well... yes, but they're only reserved for the elite warriors.

Janaan: Well, don't mind if I do...

Saffiya: Give it here, Janaan. We want to preserve those for study later.

Janaan: But boss, there's so many of 'em you can take. Plus, I could take this as partial payment...

Saffiya: I already paid you upfront, Janaan. These daggers aren't for re-use and you could use the extra space in your pack. So hand them over.

Janaan: Fine, you're the boss...

Aerie: And anyway, you're NOT an elite warrior Janaan.

Janaan: *grumble

The party continued deeper into what seemed to be the remains of a courtyard. Saffiya examined the arched rooms, finding remains of ore and rusted tools. There were worn down structures that resembled furnaces. She theorized that if this was a courtyard, this place could have been a marketplace, and these were the remains of a blacksmith. While Halla marveled at the pillars and Janaan took watch, Aerie stuck close to Saffiya, taking a great interest in the young archeologist's input as they inspected the ruins.

Aerie: All of this feels so familiar, and yet so distant at the same time.

Saffiya: I mean, these are Azzar ruins. I'm sure they'd feel close to home.

Aerie: Yeah, but we Sunwalkers never make structures this grand. We're nomadic so, we don't feel attached to places like these. And still... I don't know how to explain it. I feel so drawn to this place.

Saffiya: Aerie, look at these markings.

Aerie: What are they?

Saffiya: They look like symbols. And some of them are repeating....Fascinating...You said your people don't have a way of writing?

Aerie: Yes, that's right.

Saffiya: And yet these, they look like a writing system.

Aerie: That's... wait... I recognize some of these. That triangular symbol there, and there. That's...

Saffiya: Similar to your face tattoos.

Aerie: Is it? Is it really?!

Saffiya: Well...

Janaan: Shhh, everyone, did you hear that?

Aerie: What? I didn't hear any... Janaan! What are you doing?!

Janaan: Fire-girl, shush!

Aerie: I see those obsidian blades in your pack, Janaan. Are you taking them for yourself?!

Janaan: Aerie, just calm down...

Saffiya: Girls!

Janaan: !

Aerie: !
