Hello. How you doing?
Good. That's good.
I'm so sorry.
So um! I was wondering maybe you could explain the shadow bit a little more? It's giving me a bit of trouble.
Though I totally get it if you grasp for words at this topic.

I'll give it a shot! What in particular are you strugglin' with? :]

Albert-Einstein-Fan In reply to HinoNeko [2011-02-09 12:00:11 +0000 UTC]
Well, I'm not sure if it's the brush I'm using or if I'm set on a weird opacity, but when I try to do the shadow bit with the low saturation brown, it always ends up looking... Odd. And by odd, I mean not at all close to how your tutorial pictures it.
(Sorry, I'm terrible at descriptions.)

HinoNeko In reply to Albert-Einstein-Fan [2011-02-10 00:35:00 +0000 UTC]
Hm. Are you setting the shadow layer to multiply, burn, darken only, etc.? Different layer effects give slightly different results, and sometimes they look funky.

Nice tutorial, I kinda hate making line art sometimes.
(mostly because I'm bad at it XD)
And it's nice to make something that's a bit easier on the eyes.

HinoNeko In reply to DntKnoNuttin [2010-06-09 04:50:05 +0000 UTC]
Oog, I hate line art. Sketches are fun, and coloring is fun, but inking always just feels like that annoying getting-there step. D:

DntKnoNuttin In reply to HinoNeko [2010-06-09 05:45:51 +0000 UTC]
eeehn I sometimes enjoy it,
if it isn't overly complicated,
but inking is a pain most of the time.
I also hate super thin line art I cannot pull it off at all.
But coloring and sketching are FUN! YAY!

HinoNeko In reply to DntKnoNuttin [2010-06-09 16:19:42 +0000 UTC]
I just hate it because it's impossible to do the "halfway one line, halfway another line" smoothness that's easy in the sketches. Sometimes you can get it back with the lines or fancy shading, but . . .
