The Vong felt more like the Dark Eldar or Chaos worshipers than the nids.

Yeah but the reason I made this meme is because pretty much everything they use is biotechnology organic weapons and ships and that sort of thing and Tyranids will Chow Down on anything even remotely organic Soo yeah.

I personally don't care much for either faction. The Vong are a bunch of out of place edgelords who the writers went overboard on giving them all these advantages over the Jedi, some of which got thrown out the window like them being immune to the Force. Hell the idea that them not being connected to the Force gives them any kind of immunity to being thrown around doesn't even make sense given all the times we've seen that done to none living things.
The Tyranids are a faction with any interesting characters, all of them just space bugs of death, and for all the fear they are supposed to inspire they are probably the most pointless army in the setting. In virtually every conflict you can name that involves the Tyranids, they lose. The game is supposed to sell models, but the Nids feel like that literally the only reason they exist because nobody at GW seems to care about them.

Hold up there Tyranids Do not lose every single conflict in fact when they came in to the galaxy The imperium couldn’t do anything to slow these guys downs and they’re still considered a threat. you got to Realize these guys are the flood on steroids they can literally adapt to any opponent kinda like doomsday And they have ridiculous regeneration that can heal them instantly the only thing that they have the imperium has to kill these little fuckers is this mutagenic acid that kills them faster than they can adapt to it. they’re actually retarded in terms of how dangerous they are like I hate it when people sleep on these guys but there’s a reason wh And they have ridiculous regeneration that can heal them instantly the only thing that they have the imperium has to kill these little fuckers is this mutagenic acid that kills them faster than they can adapt to it. they’re actually retarded in terms of how dangerous they are like I hate it when people sleep on these guys but there’s A reason why There one of the most dangerous species in the galaxy if they didn’t have to slingshot themselves off of stars to propel themselves can you imagine what devastation they could do to the galaxy as a whole the only reason they haven’t gone as far is because their ships are very slow and they can’t go through the warp.

I didn't say they lost every conflict they got into. The problem is that the Tyranids lose in every conflict we see given any real attention. Given that we see other factions like Orks, Chaos, and even the Necrons despite them not being one of the fan favorites get some victories in stories, it gives the idea that almost nobody at Games Workshop cares about the Tyranids.
So the lore says that Tyranids can adapt to anything. We are also told that the Black Templars would be invincible if the entire chapter were ever assembled in one place, and that Bloodthirsters are all as strong as the Primarchs and are the most dangerous enemy one can meet on the battlefield. That is especially hilarious given that the Bloodthirsters spend the bulk of their appearances losing to any number of named characters, my personal favorite being how Uraka, a mortal follower of Chaos who wasn't not a Space Marine or some other enhanced human, beat a Bloodthirster int he Warp. I am not kidding. So why should I believe the Tyranids can adapt to anything, especially when the Tau's emphasis on flexibility allowed them to beat the Nids at their own game, showing that just switching back and forth between biomorphs mid fight can actually have consequences.
The Tyranids sound really scary on paper, but for all the fear they are supposed to inspire they don't seem allowed to make any kind of impact on the setting. Compare with how the Thousand Sons got to destroy the homeworld of the Space Wolves, but when the Tyranids were on the verge of victory over the Blood Angels, we actually got the intervention of Chaos to help them.

In major conflicts, the Nids are pretty much the only faction that CAN lose a fight in totality.
If, for example, in devastation of Baal, Dante died to Swarmy, that'd be it for him. He'd be dead, and people would get pissed because they would feel like they couldn't field him anymore. Part of the appeal of the game is that it fits into an overarching setting. People like that, and don't want to play a character that's dead, so major characters tend to not die.
The Swarmlord is completely immortal. Every time it dies, its mind is just transferred to a new body, just like all hive tyrants. On one hand, it's utter bullshit, but on the other hand, it's kind of scary in its own way. An enemy that you can kill, and kill, and kill. And no matter how many times you do, it'll always be back, a bit stronger, a bit faster, a bit smarter. It's got as many chances as it needs. One day, it will be back, it'll have grown just enough, and that will be the end for whatever unfortunate being that stands against it.

That problem with the setting is the lack of change to the status quo. People mock Abbadon for not making any real gains against the Imperium, but really nobody has.
The idea of the Swarmlord learning and coming back stronger is probably going to be one the writers will fumble. Going by how it went from nearly killing Marnus Calgar, and his Honor Guards died just giving him an escape route, to getting killed by Dante, the Swarmlord looks like might be going the way of the Avatar of Khaine, Bloodthirsters and Daemon Princes that aren't named characters where it only exists so somebody can defeat him and show off how strong they are.

There’s evidence that backs it up for the Tyranids adapting to a lot of things.

But it's not as perfect the fluff would have us believe. Afterall, they are supposed to be able to become immune to any kind of bio weapon, but we have seen exceptions to that. So I feel fans overreacted to the idea of the Tau beating them at their own game (now for Nid fans not being happy that 5th Edition lore mostly consisted of the Nids losing, that I get). Similar to how I feel fans overreacted to Kalder Draigo beating daemons in the Warp, there is evidence from other that that is possible, and we saw it done by warriors who were not Space Marine pyskers trained to fight daemons, but I digress.
