Description The next morning, Roisin left the hotel to get her harp back. When she returned to the hotel, a big bus was in front of it. The members of the Orchestra were just entering the hotel. Bellboys and even the receptionists helped them carry the bags to their rooms. When Roisin arrived at the entrance, one of the musicians greeted her: “Hello Roisin. I didn’t know you were back in Switzerland since you disappeared last year.”

“Hello Derek. Is Gerhard Markson somewhere around?” Roisin replied.

“Gerhard isn’t our conductor anymore. The new principal conductor is Alan Buribayev. You’ll find him in the lobby. But please wait until we settled into our rooms. He’s pretty busy at the moment.” the musician replied.

“Alright! I’ll wait in the lobby.” Roisin replied and entered the lobby.

About 30 minutes later, Roisin was sitting with Mr. Buribayev in the lobby.

“I understand your request, Miss Whelan. And even if you have already played for this orchestra, the position of harpist is occupied at the moment. I’m sorry but I have to decline your request.” the conductor explained. “I wish you a very nice day.” Then he left Roisin behind.

“But, but…” Roisin complained. She sank into the couch. As she watched the orchestra members return from their rooms, Roisin had an idea. She walked over to the front desk and addressed Martha: “Martha I have another wish. Do you see that woman coming down the stairs? Her name is Saoirse. She’s the current harpist in the orchestra. I wish that she has an accident that will hurt her so bad, she can’t play the harp anymore.”

“What? Why would you do something like that?” Martha replied, trying to delay that wish.

“The wish, Martha! I’ll explain to you later.” Roisin insisted.

Martha shrug her shoulders. She didn’t like to grant such a wish, but she was slave and thus had no choice. With a blink, Martha granted the wish. A second later, a crashing noise was heard from the stairs, followed by a woman’s cry: “Ahhhhhh!!! My hand! Help me!” A tall woman with light brown hair had fallen down the stairs and injured her hand in the process. Several guests rushed to help her or to see the scene.

“Don’t you want to go there and have a look?” Martha taunted her mistress.

“Why should I? As long as I’m here, nobody will have chance of accusing me! And besides, nobody would believe the story of a genie being responsible for the accident, either. I know what I'm talking about.” Roisin explained.

“I see your point!” Martha gnarled angrily. “But why did you make such a cruel wish, anyway?”

“Simple! One year ago, this woman took my position in the orchestra. And not because she was a better musician than me. She used dirty tricks. Thanks to her, I had to spend months in a mental hospital. But now, it’s payback time. With Saoirse out of the way, the orchestra has no other choice than to take me back.” Roisin continued her explanation.

“I better call an ambulance.” Martha muttered and dialed the emergency number. She felt terrible. It appeared that Sami was right again about the wickedness of all masters. Now it was on Martha to keep her promise. She would have to twist Roisin’s next wish to punish her, whatever this wish would be.

About 30 minutes later, the paramedics took Saoirse to the hospital to x-ray her hand. They assumed that it was broken. After the ambulance left the hotel, Mr. Buribayev came to the lobby to speak to Roisin: “Miss Whealan, it appears we are short of a harpist. Under these circumstances, I’d like to ask you if you are still interested in the position.”

“Definitely! When is the first rehearsal?” Roisin answered.

“Not so fast! First, I’d like to see you skills. And if our program matches with your repertoire.”

“Certainly! I have my harp with me.” Roisin replied.

“Excellent. Please follow me to my room.” Mr. Burbayev proposed. And so, both left the lobby.

I really hope Martha doesn't loose faith in humanity

It's a sneaking process. The more she looses faith, the more she becomes a genie in mind too.

I'm assuming your going to introduce a counter measure to this of some kind.

I will. But it will be interesting how Martha will react. I guess you'd prefer if she would remain human in mind.

well not necessarily, I would like a Balance in between a genie in mind and a human in mind. if she remains human in mind the story looses an aspect of its progress, but if shes a genie in mind then she looses her appeal as a transformed human, and it seems all is lost for her. But a balance in between and the struggle to keep that balance now thats interesting.

True. But I can't go on like that forever. Or it will become boring at a point. So, it's better to move to a clear end.

I'm not sure what's going on in the preview pics, though I can guess who the bottom one is.

Cruel, cruel cruel.

In the top picture, Saoirse makes her wish and the lower picture shows the result.
