Martha was in her lamp again. Since she had departed from Donan, he didn’t call her again for a few days. Martha began to have doubts about him, when suddenly the walls started to glow and she was sucked out of her lamp. When she materialised, Donan greeted Martha.

“Look Martha! A new song I wrote!” he said and passed her some sheets of paper.

Surprised, Martha saw that the song was about a female genie in a bottle. Donan had actually written a love song about her. With dreamy eyes, Martha grinned at Donan.

“I have to thank you. You inspired me to write this song and we are gonna put it on our first record. I’m sorry that I didn’t summon you. But I wanted to finish the song first. It was a surprise for you.” Martha felt very flattered by these words.
“Now, I’m waiting for the rest of the Band. They should be here by now, so we can do a test run before we drive to the studio. Why don’t you could come along too?”

“Really? I’d love to!”

Suddenly, Donan’s mobile rang. It was the band and after a small chat, Donan declared that they would be late due to a traffic jam. “We’ll have to wait!” When he took a look on Martha in her genie outfit, he said: “By the way: I didn’t tell the Band that you are a genie. They might think I’m nuts, so I told them that you are from the label. Can you change your clothes? They are cute, but I don’t think they would buy the story if you are wearing that. Something more serious would be appropriate.”

“I don’t know if I can change them! They appeared when I was turned into a genie!” Martha explained.

“Why don’t you try it?” Donan proposed.

Martha imagined a set of business clothes and blinked. She felt a tingling and soon she was wearing a blazer, a pencil skirt and high heels, all in dark green. “Is this ok?” she asked.

“That will work.” Donan said.

During the next two hours, Martha and Donan continued to chat. He treated her very kindly and laughed at Martha’s jokes. The feeling grew in Martha that Donan might become more than a master, maybe even more than an ordinary friend. Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

“Finally!” said Donan and went to open the door. One after the other, the band members entered the room. Donan introduced them to Martha: “Mike is the drummer, Chris plays the bass and Loraine,is Mike’s sister and the female vocalist. This is Martha. She’s from the label.” None of the band members reacted with astonishment upon the sight of Martha. Only when Martha’s and Loraine’s eyes met, Martha saw a glint of resentment in Loraine’s eyes.
One second later, Loraine embraced Donan and kissed him passionately. Martha felt as if a dagger was stabbed in her heart. She couldn’t belief it! Why did Donan flirt with her if he already had a girlfriend?

“Martha, we are leaving for the studio. Do you want to come along?” Donan asked.

Martha didn’t want to come along. But she felt compelled to obey her master. “I... I’ll come with you.” she said. Inside, Martha was steaming with rage. But she followed the others to the car.
