Description Flesh & Stone
A week had passed since Amelia and Martha had returned from dealing with the first three of Martha's victims. Martha would have liked to continue her quest, but Amelia was against it. This week she would have to take an important test in her evening school and Amelia had to be prepared. The week was now over and Amelia and Martha met in their favourite café in town.

"How did the test go?" Martha asked her friend.

"I have a good feeling about it." Amelia sipped her coffee. "I learned a lot for English. And David helped me too."

"You must be very happy to have David." Martha said with a hint of bitterness in her voice.

"Yes I am. Oh, I didn't tell you that we plan to have our wedding after I graduate." Amelia said with gleaming eyes. Then she saw Martha's sorrowful face. "Are you still env..."

"No, I'm not. David and you are meant for each other, that's obvious. I'm just worried about what will come of me."

Amelia was astonished. "What do you mean?"

"I still got the wish David gave me, right?" Martha replied. "But how should I use it? I could turn back into a human. But then I would lose my genie powers? What shall I do?"

"I can't decide that for you Martha. Maybe it will help to deal with other victim's of yours?"

"Would like to come along with me?" Martha asked. "I'd really appreciate that. If you have time."

"No worries. There are no test next week. I can come with you. Where do you want to go?"

Martha thought for a moment. "I want to save Lorraine. I transformed her into a stone statue and I don't know where she is. Could be in a museum or a private collection. But I tell you this: We go and find out where she is first."

"Sounds like a plan. Let's finish this and off we go."

Martha and Amelia finished their coffee and quickly paid their bills. The Amelia wished that Martha would teleport them to the place, where the stone statue was. With a blink of Martha's eyes, the two women disappeared.

Amelia and Martha appeared in a lavish entrance hall of some kind of company. In the middle of the entrance hall stood a statue of the Venus of Milo. A few moments later, the receptionist greeted them. "Guten Tag, die Damen. Willkommen bei der Rederei Woermann. Wie kann ich ihnen helfen?"

Amelia was the first to react. "Err... My name is Amelia Maus. I'm here to apply for the position of secretary. I hope I'm not too late, hehe."

The receptionist checked his monitor. "Young lady, I'm sorry you are too late. The job interview was yesterday. If I may give you a hint, you should keep track of your appointments better."

"I should do that." Amelia feigned disappointment. "Have a nice day then."

A few moments later, Martha and Amelia stood outside the building. "And what are we going to do now?" Amelia asked.

"We'll return later this evening when all are gone." Martha replied.

"Do we need a hotel?" Amelia asked.

"Probably not. We can spent the evening in Hamburg. They have some good Musicals here. How's about that?"

"Sounds good!" Amelia replied.

It was late at night when Amelia and Martha returned from the "Lion King"-Musical. "That was really a good idea, Martha. I'll surprise David and invite him on a trip to Hamburg including seeing a musical." Amelia said.

"Yeah, I enjoyed it too. But now we have work to do. Are you ready?" Martha asked.

Amelia nodded. "I wish that you teleport us into the lobby of Woermann Shipping."

Martha blinked and both appeared next to the statue of the Venus of Milo. Suddenly they heard a man shout. "Freeze! Who are you? What are you doing here?"

"Damn, a watchman. Do something Martha. Freeze him." Amelia turned and saw a watchman with a gun walking towards them.

"Wish granted!" Martha said and snapped. The watchman was instantly encased in a block of ice.

"What did you do?" Amelia asked seemingly worried.

"Don't worry, Amelia. He'll be fine. Once all of the ice has molten, he can move again. Let's do now what we are here for."

Amelia gulped and made her wish. "Martha, I wish that you had added a mind protection spell to Lorraine when you petrified her."

Martha was more than happy to oblige.

"Let's wish her back into a human now." Amelia proposed.

"I'll go and check her mind first." Martha said. "To see if all is fine.

"Okay, but don't grant any foolish wishes on the way. First, you'll come back to me and tell me about her mental condition. Then I make the wish." Amelia added.

"Alright, I promise." Martha touched the statue and reached out with her mind.

Inside the statue, Martha found Lorraine's mind. "Hello Lorraine, how are you doing?" Martha asked.

"What do you expect?" Lorraine answered "I'm just killing the time. It's like a prison in here."

"That's what it's actually supposed to be. What you did to Donan wasn't exactly nice."

"I know. And I've accepted my penance. Even if that meant I would be left here inside forever. But what brings you here, Martha?

"I came to give you parole. I'd say you served your time and I came to grant you a wish. Any wish.

Lorraine was peasantly surprised. "I want to move again, talk again, like other humans do. Oh, and make my body complete again"

Martha nodded. "I'll talk to my friend about this. She will ask for the wish." Then she returned to her body.

Sometimes it seems Martha really has lost herself in her geniedom. Not more than 5 seconds after promising Amelia not to grant any wishes, she still offers Lorraine a wish. She didn't have to make the offer but her genie-ness made her do it. And I can't see how B makes any sense when the point is to let her off the hook.

Language fix: second paragraph "How did the tests go?", better "How did your exams go?". Either way, "went" is totally wrong.

Thanks, for the typos. In the first draft, Amelia had to take two tests. When I changed it to one test, I forgot to change all verbs.

About the wish: She's not granting it yet. In the next story, we will see that Martha let Amelia make that wish. But I see your point: After three years, granting wishes and feeling like a genie has become natural for Martha. This becomes even clearer if you choose certain parts in this endgame. I doubt that this Martha could ever let go of her genie powers.
