About 30 minutes later, Alex was still sitting inside her lamp, when suddenly the walls glowed and Alex was summoned. Outside, a blue-haired maid had apparently dusted the lamp and thus had summoned her.

"Oh, dear! Who are you?" the maid asked, seemingly surprised.

"Don't worry, I'm a jinn. Alex is my name." Alex smiled.

"I'm Svetlana. So you are a genie? Like in the arabian tales? Do I... eh... get some wishes?" Svetlana asked.

"No, I don't have to grant wishes if I don't want to," Alex explained.

"Oh. You're a free genie, then?"

"Pretty much," said Alex.

"Mhhh... I'd say we have to do something about that." Svetlana suddenly produced a purple bottle from her apron and uncorked it.

Another, male, purple genie appeared. "Oh, another genie!" he said.

"Yes, Gregorios. And a free one." Svetlana says. "Can you enslave her?"

"If I'm more powerful than her, yes." Gregorios sighed.

"Gregorios, I've heard about you. Why would you want to enslave me?" Alex tried to reason with the other genie.

"Actually, I don't want to condemn you to the same life I have to suffer. But I'm bound to grant the wish." Gregorios said, in a sad voice.

"Gregorios, I wish that you turn her into a bound genie that has to grant her mistress any wish she makes!" Svetlana commanded.

"Sorry!" said Gregorios, and blinked.

Alex felt his magic assault her. She gathered all her strength to resist Gregorios. But, after a short fight, she was overwhelmed by Gregorios' powers. Golden bracelets formed around Alex's wrists. Then, she was sucked back into her lamp.

Outside the lamp, Svetlana watched with pleasure as Alex was turned into a genie slave. "Now to make a decoy. Gregorios, I wish that you create an empty replica of that genie lamp without placing me or any other being inside it."

"Your wish is my command", snarled Gregorios. Another brass genie lamp appeared in Gregorios' hands. He passed it to Svetlana.

Svetlana saw that there was a smudge on the lamp and was about to rub it clean when she saw a wicked grin on Gregorios' face from the corners of her eyes. "Nice try, Gregorios, but I won't fall for your trap." Carefully, she placed the lamp on the table. She took Alex's lamp and shoved it into her apron. "What's wrong with you, Gregorios?"

Gregorios was angry, as he was forced to answer. "I promised you to grant you any wish. And you promised to get revenge on Martha. Enslaving a young genie is the most wicked thing you have done and definitely nothing to get revenge on Martha. You have no idea what it means to be imprisoned in that accursed lamp and being a slave."

Svetlana stepped closer and wrapped her hands around Gregorio's body. "Aww, don't be so grumpy. Being my genie has its advantages, you know that. I'll make it up to you later. And we will get our revenge on Martha. I promise that."

But Gregorios wasn't soothed. He got himself out of Svetlana's embrace. "Heed my words: you better keep that promise. I'm bound to grant your wishes, but I might misinterpret them."

Svetlana swallowed hard. She had never seen Gregorios this angry before. And she hadn't missed his threat. She had to be more careful from now on. "That's it. Back into your bottle!" She commanded.

Gregorios gave her a hateful look as he was pulled back into his bottle.

Svetlana wipe the sweat from her face. Then she finished up the room and left the scene, taking a genie bottle and a genie lamp with her.
