Description
"Good morning, David." M. Sprüngli greeted his nephew. "I'm glad you came at this early hour.""Sure, Uncle. What do you want to talk about?"
"David, you know that I'm getting older and you will take over the hotel one day." M. Sprüngli explained. "But you still need to learn a lot about the hotel business. And then, there is another, related aspect.."
"I understand!" David replied. "That's why you sent me to the kitchen for the last week. To learn the tools of the trade."
"Exactly. But now you shall learn about cooperation with other hotels. I'm sending you to a conference of hoteliers in Paris. Here are the tickets and this is the reservation for the hotel in Paris. The owner is a friend of mine."
"These are two tickets." David pointed out. "Will you come with me?"
"Unfortunately, I'm needed here. Tell me, David, who would you take along?" M. Sprüngli asked.
"Amelia Maus." David answered without hesitation.
"That's what I thought." M. Sprüngli sounded strangely serious. "See, David. Amelia is a good maid and certainly a nice girl. But do you think she would learn anything at the conference? Or that Amelia would be the right woman for a hotel owner?"
"What do you mean?" David sounded a bit angry now.
"What do you know about Amelia's background?"
David shrugged his shoulders.
"Fortunately, I did some research." M. Sprügli produced a printout from his desk's drawer. "Amelia Maus, 19 years old. She lost her parents at the age of three. She was raised in an orphanage. A simple school education of 10 years. No college. For two years, she worked as a maid for a temp agency. I gave her the permanent position at my hotel because all the other applicants didn't turn up. Do you think such a woman would be suitable for a hotel owner?"
"Did she do poor quality work as a maid?" David asked.
"She's an excellent maid, no doubt. But there are better women to run a hotel." M. Sprüngli said.
"Alright. And who would be 'suitable' to come with me to Paris?" David asked.
"I was thinking about Martha. As a receptionist, she has greater insight into running a hotel. She will definitely profit from attending that conference, too."
"And now you are gonna tell me that Martha is from a better family, has a better education and is thus more suitable for a future hotel owner?" David asked in a taunting voice.
"Martha has indeed a completely different background. But how about you ask her yourself? Besides, that's not the question, here. I think Martha would profit a lot if she attends that conference, as well. That's why I'm sending her with you to Paris." M. Sprüngli explained.
"I have no problem with Martha accompanying me to Paris, Uncle. But Amelia is my own decision." David replied defiantly.
"Of course she is. I just told you my point of view in the matter. Just keep it in mind when you plan your future."
"I will, uncle." David frowned. "I will."
Two days later, David and Martha were on their way to Paris. David had explained Amelia about the conference but didn't tell her about the other things his uncle said. Amelia in turn had told him that she will have a very tough working schedule over the next days with many late shifts. It would be nearly impossible to reach her. Secretly, David was quite glad with the situation, since he wanted to ponder over his uncles words first.
So, David and Martha left for Paris taking Martha's lamp with them so nobody would summon her by chance.
.
While David and Martha were sitting on a plane, Amelia returned to Svetlana's room to bring the rest of her belongings to David's flat. She was taking a card box, in which she was taking her dresses from the wardrobe, when Amelia spotted a bronze object: an old oil lamp. Amelia immediately recognized it as Sami's lamp. She took the lamp in her hands.
"Boo!" she suddenly heard a voice behind her. Completely taken by surprised, Amelia dropped the lamp. She turned around. It was Svetlana who had surprised her. The other maid was holding a purple bottle, from which a trail of purple smoke lead to the genie body of Gregorios. In panic, Amelia looked down at Sami's lamp.
"That's right, Amelia. I took his lamp." Svetlana explained.
"Sami didn't run away with another genie?" Amelia asked.
"You're so naive, Amelia!" Svetlana insulted her. "The other genie, that was I. And Gregorios here played the part of Sami."
"But why?" Amelia asked.
"Come on, that's simple." Svetlana gloated. "Revenge against Martha. She transformed Gregory into Gregorios and she took my position as receptionist. You see, both of us have a grudge against Martha. And breaking her up with Sami will make things much easier for us."
"I see..." Amelia said.
"I know you are clever. But of course, I can't let you go, now that you know the secret." Svetlana said.
"Wh... what are you going to do?" Amelia asked. She was thinking about kneeling down, grabbing Sami's lamp, summoning the genie and solving the problem with Svetlana once and for all. However, she never managed to carry out that plan.
"Simple." Svetlana answered. "Gregorios, transform Amelia back into the mouse she was originally."
Gregorios blinked. Amelia's body began to shrink while fur started to grow. The maid disappeared into her clothes. A few seconds later, a brown mouse escaped from the heap of Amelia's empty maid uniform. Svetlana laughed devilishly as she watched the mouse scurry away. "And now, we have to get rid of Sami's lamp."

Did you read the Carnival story? There it is clear that we have two combinded love triangles.
Martha is torn between David and Sami. Thus, she reacts with jealousy when she sees David and Amelia together.
And David, of course, found himself between Martha and Amelia. With his geniephobia, it's rather unlikely that he an Martha will get together.
I'd rather say David will have to make a desicion at one point.

No problem. You didn't say anything wrong. I just explained the situation to you. This love triangle will be resolved in the final chapter, the one way or the other.

Here's the picture showing Gergorios as Sami. If you look very closely, you see the differences:
This "Sami" has a unibrow.
The colour of his bracelets has slight golden hue, since Gregorios bracelets are golden.

Svetlana becomes a mouse, and Gregorios's bottle gets thrown in the ocean.
But, hey: it's your story. You decide what happens.

Off the top of my head, one of them turned into a painting for M. Sprüngli to buy, and one into cheese I guess.
