This reminds me a lot of Althea Vestrit from the novel series "Liveship Traders" by Robin Hobb.
Very beautiful in it's concept, design and execution.

I absolutely l o v e this. The way you've drawn it and the colours are beautiful. And mostly, the sense of freedom and joy and youth in it are amazing. I've had this open in a tab for days and I expected to write a huge comment, but I can't really express how this makes me feel. Really, it is amazing, and inspiring and heart-warming. This is probably my favourite picture of Karelle.
(Looking more closely, I also have to mention that the shadows on her particularly skin are excellent. *__*)

Il est trop bien ce dessin! c'Est bien de la voir à cet âge la, on la voit rarement dans ces premiers temps sur les bateau... Je le trouve très réussi! Bravo!

First I'll comment on the nice new style of shading you're doing here. The gradients work nicely to convey atmosphere and I love the colored lines, just wonderful to make them blend with the color. On the issue of content, I just adore her expression. She looks so carefree here, much lighter in terms of ways of the world and I can see that she is just enjoying life and hasn't had much turmoil yet. I adore how young she looks here, the cropped hair is a lovely touch and the smile is really easygoing and a youthful touch.

Non, c'est marrant, tout le monde me le demande! ^^ J'ai juste mis du "gris" dans les ombres, c'est tout ^^ Et j'ai rendu le tout plus pastel, plus doux.

Cheveux court et esprit gamin! voici le stage dans lequel Karelle travail avec les pirate en tant que garcon...
(j'aime les touches de couleur bleu comme si la couleur du ciel se reflete etc... j'ai du mal a m'exprimer aujourd'hui....)
