It's actually in the toy shelf right now! Darth Vader's Sith Starfighter! Includes an Imperial Droid and Darth Vader with a glow up lightsaber! In stores now!Nah, just kidding. It's custom.
I got the idea from a toy I saw called The Sith Starfighter. To be honest, I was never a fan of seeing a yellow ship. I mean can you imagine in space, a yellow, bright object in the middle of war? I mean what is it suppose to be? It's like painting a bulls eye target on your ship and say "hit me." It's just plain weird and screams classic prequel. That's why I prefer the colour black, it's sneaky, mysterious and just kick ass.

I first thought there actually was a LEGO set of Darth Vader's Sith Starfighter since I remember seeing something like that in stores. Though after looking it up, I remembered that it was actually a toy by Hasbro for the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars. XD

IIRC, drawing attention to himself was the whole reason why Anakin painted his ship yellow, and since he was the best pilot in the galaxy at the time, he was probably confident enough in his abilities to avoid a fiery death.

Actually Darth Vader really flew one of these - he used a modified Eta-2 Actis shortly after Episode III, painted black and with new astrodroid. You can read about it in a novel Darth Vader: The Rise of Dark Lord by James Luceno
