I use Painttool SAI for the artwork and then use GIMP for the effects!

GIMP is free, but I paid for SAI. It's only 60ish USD and a very good program. Worth the price.

Eek now I really want to buy it! I definitely trust your source, your tokotas always come out looking fantastic! I can't wait to have my own but I have to wait till my account is a month old haha

I've been looking to do an upgrade for a long while now, my adobe doesn't have a blending tool or any specially shaped tools, ex being hair or grass stencils.

Thank you! It's definitely experience too. I suggest trying to draw something every day. The program helps with line quality, but it wont make the work for you! Grats to you on working toward getting into Tokotas. It's a fun world. I suggest reading through their journals while you wait. I did about a months worth of research before I joined bc I was afraid of looking stupid xD

SAI has a lot of nice blending options, but no real stencil type things. It's very much a program where you have to draw every part of the imagine. Down to the grass FF

Oh yes definitely noted! I’ve been reading constantly for the past 3 days 😂 just curious where do I find the journals because I have not found them or exactly understand them specifically...😅😅😅

All the resources should be listed on the main page. I'd start with newbie info and then just browse everything at your leisure
