Setting: Hintertomb, New Territory, The Western Mountains | Dawn | SUMMER 2023

She'd only pause for a second.
Catching her breath, Andromeda fled from the dark twists and turns of the caverns, leaving the family of mountain goats behind. She'd had enough of that experience, for a lifetime. Though curiosity and determination once fueled her, she now felt nothing but heart-pumping fear and a lapse in adrenaline. She'd been prideful this morning, hopeful to make a discovery... hopeful of being helpful. Without Sahir to direct her around, this new-found rank left Andromeda rather clueless. It wasn't fair, to not have a laid-out set of directions... and to be all alone in navigating her day-to-day life, she was bound to end up endangering herself.

Andromeda, though tired, didn't dare hesitate any longer. Without another moment put to waste, she started down the icy slopes she'd just scaled. Her mittens sank into the dampened snow as the sunrise crept along the distant peaks. She needed to return to her safe haven, and soon. Her paws moved quickly, careful not to roll over any loose stones, and her eyes were vigilant as she went-- ensuring she didn't slip on any slippery patches of ice. Though clueless, she was skilled.

As she reached her destination, her breaths broke any silence of the forestry, and there appeared to be less and less snow or ice. As she crossed the line of what areas stayed frozen, she'd only pause for a second.

From then on, she'd take precautions before sticking her nose in places where it simply doesn't belong.
