FAQs:
1. What kind of paper does this use?
90lbs/185g
Letter or A4 size. Scale to printable area (don't try to print them at original image size, because they won't match).
2. Where is the previous V3 package?
Superseded by the V3A31 package, which improves on it in every way. Together with the accessories package, it include a large number of previous and updated parts.
3. What do the version numbers mean?
V1 & V2: Old versions, both handmade. The receivers, barrels, and magazines are unique and incompatible with anything else. Some accessories like sights can be interchanged with other versions. Handguards are also cross-compatible, because versions 1 through 3 use barrels with the same thick diameter. However, the design quality of versions 1 and 2 is very poor, so I don't recommend building them.
V3A2: Handmade V3 lower receiver that only accepts V2 (undersized) magazines.
V3: Current version, digitalized and generally better build quality, although with some notable weaknesses, such as the barrel and stock. If a receiver is labeled V3A3, that means it takes V3 magazines. However, there are some slight differences in V3 magazines, so some may fit better than others. V3 magwell has a retaining bar at the back that holds the magazine in place.
V3A416: Hk416 that uses V3 receiver measurements and magazine system. As the two-tone build shows, the receivers are cross-compatible. The main difference is the way the stock attaches (rear ring, buffer tube, and stock) and the way the barrel attaches (it goes into the upper receiver). The upper receiver also fits together better, but, being an Hk416 upper, it is taller only matches the Hk416 handguard. Overall, this is a much stronger model, but retains the unrealistic V3 magazine system.
V3A31: Same magwell and receiver dimensions, but improved buffer tube and barrel, and more realistic minor details. In short, it's an application of the lessons learned from the V3A416 model back to the standard M4 carbine configuration.
V4: Hypothetical next version, with realistic proportions and mag release. Although some of the current parts can be considered "V4" parts, I have barely started actually making a V4 receiver. The stock and barrel will attach similarly to the V3A416. There is no estimated release date.

The package contains multiple colors.
The receivers, sights, magazine, and furniture are all available in black.

I donΒ΄t understand how to paste together, all the barrel (front face etc) with handguard, because it weighed and falls.

The delta ring and the handguard don't actually serve a structural purpose. Just glue them enough to prevent them from moving.
What's important is the attachment of the barrel to the "barrel well" (as seen in the photo "assembly attachment"). Make sure this attachment is secure, and glue it as stiffly as possible, because this is what's holding the barrel in its position. Make sure the barrel stays straight on its own. Then, once it's completely dry, attach the delta ring and the handguard.
Over time, the "barrel well" might start peeling off from the upper receiver, in which case it's time to reinforce it, but that's a gradual process and probably not what's going on here.
Some other causes for the problem might be that the glue hasn't had enough time to dry completely, the paper may be too thin, or the glue may be too weak.

There shouldn't be any disadvantage to just gluing it in place. Overall I'd suggest just gluing anything that doesn't specifically need to move.

Ah, nice. I like the scope. What model is it from?
Unfortunately, there are no other mags for the current V3 lower.
There is, however, a 20rd mag for the old V3A2 lower , which is compatible with the V3 upper, although, being handmade, it's not as neat.

π: 0 β©: 1
Hoborginc In reply to liceud016 [2013-08-29 15:02:47 +0000 UTC]
Take a look at this. It's for a different model, so there are unrelated parts in the picture, but the barrel structure is the same.
The internal supports consist of two types of strips.
One type is a single wide panel with tabs on each side. Take it and fold the tabs to about 90 degrees.
The other is a pair of narrow panels with tabs on each side.Β Take it and fold it into a triangle shape, with the two tabs forming an incomplete third side together. Stick the incomplete side to the wide panel mentioned previously. It should form, in cross-section, a complete triangle with a tab on each side.
Make two of these shapes and stick them together, so you end up with something like a square tube, with a double-width rib bisecting it diagonally, and a pair of tabs at two of the corners. It should be the same length as that section of barrel. Put some glue on the tabs and corners, insert it into the barrel, and seal it in place by attaching the circular ends, then press on the circular ends so they dry without bulging out. (Of course, the resulting barrel tube won't be perfectly round, since the supports will change its shape a little, but it will be more sturdy).

π: 0 β©: 1
Hoborginc In reply to assholecc2112 [2013-08-19 13:22:48 +0000 UTC]
I don't recommend it. Like most papercrafts, it's held together by tabs of paper, which have to be glued to the inside of other panels. It would be difficult to build it correctly using tape. I mean, you're welcome to modify the model and use any sorts of materials and adhesives you prefer, but I can't guarantee that it'll fit together.
It shouldn't be difficult to find a small $2 bottle of Elmer's Glue or some other cheap paper glue at a store or online.

It should be in the folder "Stock CTR" under "Furniture." I'm not sure why it's not appearing in yours, because other people have built it. Maybe the download was interrupted.
In any case, here's a separate file containing just the CTR stock. Let me know if you need any other parts.

I'll give you another link, but not the whole file, because it's too large. Please let me know the specific parts that you're planning to use.
Barrels can be 11.5", 14.5", 16", or 20".
There is a railed handguard (which can be doubled for a long version), and an M16 stock.
Older (handmade) parts include an M4 handguard and stock.
Rear sights includie an A1 carry handle (part of receiver), an A3 carry handle (rail-mounted), a fixed sight, flip-up sights, and the Aimpoint.
Front sights include rail-mounted or barrel-mounted flip-up sights or a triangular barrel-mounted sight.
Accessories consist of an AFG, a VFG, a suppressor, and some old rail covers.
Most (but not all) parts come in tan, black, gray, and white. Let me know if you want specific colors.

I don't know the email address, but here's downloadable zip containing the rail cover patterns . Keep in mind, of course, that this rail cover is very old (2009), handmade, and doesn't fit the rails exactly. It fits over them because it's larger than the rails, but you'll certainly have to glue it in place. Also I think the colors don't match perfectly.

awesome! I've been looking for a gun papercraft that can be assambled for a long time. Finally i found your model. Thanks for your awesome model. I love your job man. i have downloaded them all to make collection. i guess it will take a few month to finish em' all . btw great job. And if you don't mind, can you make a Sako TRG-42 sniper rifle "[link] " (Original model from Hitman sniper rifle "[link] ")? you already done with pistol and assault rifle so i hope you can make this model as your first sniper rifle paper model. Thank you for your great work.

Glad you like them. Although my first priority is remaking the AK, thanks for bringing up the TRG-42. I was thinking of expanding into bolt-action rifles, and certainly I'd be happier building the fairly straight lines of the TRG-42 than the more complex shapes of some other rifles. Still, though, it's a long way off.

This was really fun to build. It was the second papercraft project I put together, after making a NCR ranger helmet. Really detailed and easy to follow. I started with the white model to save ink and couldn't figure where I went wrong. I was using the "MPAR V3 7-25-11" file. The layout of the "Magwell Right Wall" on page one of the lower receiver seems to be off compared to the other colors. So I just made a tan lower after figuring it out. Just wanted to say thanks for an awesome model.

Sure, the details of the build are an opportunity to do whatever you want.
It looks like that builder also made a custom trigger and a custom magazine, so there's a lot more you can do in addition to changing the color.

Man, are you guys going to get sick of me posting (lol). The CQB site that I was thinking of might not be able to be made out of paper now that I think about it but the Burris Fastfire or any other along those lines would work if someone can design the paper model of them. Okay, I am now officially done. Thanks for indulging me.

Just another quick note. I have come across some additional pieces that I think people could modify to work with your AR-15 Model. As someone who has used the real thing, I think these mods would be great. An example of what I am talking about is the EoTech 511 which is a holographic site used on the flat top receiver. This is a wonderful sighting unit and I just happened to come across a full size paper model of one. Most may not know this but there is also a CQB sight for the AR-15 along the same lines as the EoTech but it is more like a long scope only shorter with flip up ports. The Koreans also have a 100 round double drum mag that can be used on the AR-15 in a team support role for suppression if a SAW is not available. Just some thoughts for reference or maybe future additions to an already great piece!

Actually, an Eotech would not be difficult to make out of paper. I just haven't gotten around to it. Someone on /po/ started making an Eotech for this, but I'm not sure if it was ever completed. If you want an Eotech, your best bet is to take the Eotech from the Kriss Super V on paper-replika.com and attach it to this model. I don't know if it fits, but if it's 1:1 scale, it shouldn't be a problem.
I assume you're talking about the C-Mag. It's certainly fascinating, but a rather low priority for now. Anyway, thanks for the feedback and suggestions. Currently, the AR project is on hold, and when I get back to it, the first priority will be to improve the quality of existing parts. However, I suppose adding some new parts will be necessary.
