The scratches started off being accidental - I put the transparency down on a rough surface before it was properly dry. So then I just added some more!

Masking tape - comes from Claudine Helmuth's Collage Discovery Workshop book. Basically you cover the surface with overlapping strips of masking tape (torn edges, random angles loook nice) and then rub in a series of glazes of acrylic paint. I usually use Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Pthalo Turquoise and Gold to give an aged look, but you can use any colours. Shall I do a tutorial?

I have seen the technique before but i would like to see your spin on it. The colours sound great.
