Description
Collage: Paper, acrylic glazes, ink, Japanese masking tape, eyelets, acetate transparency of tree branches over a cutout window, packing tape transfer of a birdcage. One and a half page spread in an altered book, work in progress.
An assertively altered copy of Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography - each page has been cut down to a different architectural shape, and each spread thus has views behind and beyond to other spreads.
The theme is the layered world of childhood, using illustrations from early 20th C illustrators as focal points. The little girl in this spread is by Marguerite Davis.
