Description

Dragons, as we all know, are extremely long-lived beings, with the eldest being estimated to be almost a billion years old. This fellow is only a few million years old, practically in the prime of his life. However, as Dragons never stop growing he is now too big to fly, and his wings have atrophied and begun to calcify, becoming hard and rocky in texture. He will soon make the long, slow journey towards the place of his hatching, growing as he does so, and by the time he arrives he will be the size of a mountain. There, he will burrow and hibernate for another few million years, awakening to lay his eggs before going back to sleep.

Aaaand that's where mountains come from, kids. True story. At some point I'll put this dude in an actual scene, but it's rare enough that I actually finish a drawing that I figured I should post it before I get distracted with something else.
