Apparently Connor's real name, Ratonhnhaké:ton, means "one who is scratched" in Mohawk. It's nice to me that both of Connor's name fit him, as the name Connor means "wolf lover in Gaelic.

As much as I love the Assassin's Creed games I wish that they included more of the language of the ancestors. I mean, we have Desmond for 5 games so it's not like we're not gonna get any english at all, and in olden times I don't think most people from different countries would all speak english unless they were talking to someone who spoke english primarily. Most gamers put on subtitles even for purely english games anyway, so it's not like reading subtitles is anything new for most gamers.
I guess it just kind of annoys me because for a series like AC there is such an opportunity to garner interest and respect for different cultures, and while it does that very well as it is I guess it would just be cooler if they went that extra mile.
It's not anything major but it is an irritation.
