Description
This is what I've been working on lately.Despite the uncomfortable corset (that's expected, I mean c'mon, it's a corset), I'm really happy with the results.
Plus I don't have to do anything else like wear white makeup or style my hair because I sort've already look like Elizabeth already (a little).
I messed around and sewed with everything except for the corset (that was ordered).
For those who are curious, I cut off the skirt from a prom dress and altered a turtleneck to make Elizabeth's costume.
I used leftover white fabric from my other costumes to make the white trim at the bottom of the dress and Elizabeth's cuffs.
Anyway, this was my last HL Art project. I really wanted to do this one seeing as I am in love with Elizabeth's character. Talk about a well-developed, well-animated, non-objectified female lead

And also, as someone who knows a bit about corsets, corsets shouldn't be uncomfortable. If it fits right, it should feel like a hug around your midsection.
It could be uncomfortable because it was ordered instead of handmade or custom-made to your measurements. Usually ordered ones don't fit well and are poorly/cheaply made, and therefore can cause discomfort. It also could have been because you may have had it laced up too tight. [link]
Depending on where it is most uncomfortable, you may want to try loosening the laces around that point. For instance, if it's tight or too snug around the hips, keep that area a little looser. You technically shouldn't do such things because it can damage the corset, but I'm only recommending it so you don't feel the need to go out and buy another corset when you have one that can work for what you need. : )

Yeah, it was ordered. Originally it was so laced up that it didn't even stretch around my entire body

Oh, and also, if you can, tuck your laces in. There are a few tutorials on YouTube on how to do so. At the last convention I went to, there were a lot of girls who were wearing corsets and getting very frustrated because people were untying their corset laces. Just thought I'd give you a heads-up! : )

I know right! I was lucky enough that they didn't do that to me. By the time I found out, I was out of my costume.
Some people are just jerks, and I suppose you'll find those types of jerks everywhere. In my opinion, it's best to not even let them get the upper hand in the first place. :U

Well it wasn't MY prom dress, it was one I bought from a Goodwill (though surprisingly it fit really well so it could've been a dress I used).
