Lately I've been hearing a lot about DC having a reboot.
What bothers me most is that I get varying info on what exactly this means.
I've heard that it just means costume changes, I've heard it means that everything's starting over fresh starting from 10 years ago, I've heard that they're just taking everything in a new direction, I've heard it's going to be temporary, I've heard that they're starting over completely, I've heard it's going to be permanent...
So as you can imagine this has made me a little bit bummed out.
Mainly because it seems that DC is undoing a lot of great things they've been building up over the years, like Dick and Damian's partnership, and how awesome Babs has become even after being crippled and put in a wheelchair (not that people in wheelchairs aren't awesome).
The only thing that looks good that's coming out of this supposed reboot is where Jason's ending up.
But heaven knows where that could go.
I swear, american comics are the only comics I know that have backtracked on their own timelines.
If they're rebooting just to get new readers with new storylines (as I have also heard), it probably will just confuse new and old readers alike more than entice them.
And it seems that shows like YJ and stuff have gotten people to actually go to reading DC's stuff, like B & R.
A lot of the people I've seen that get into the YJ fandom quickly get into Damian and the whole Batman family afterwards (I feel special because I liked Damian before I got into YJ ).
BTW, does anyone know what's happening to Damian in this reboot? If he's made Dick's sidekick as Nightwing (which I highly doubt), then I won't mind everything else so much.
Though I'll still be sort've ticked if everything doesn't work out nicely.
Plus, how'm I gonna keep doign these New Addition comics if I have no material to parody?
Anyways, sorry for the rant. I just don't feel good about what's happening over at DC right now.
(Hey does anyone know if this is going to stop House of Hush and The Hist List from coming out anymore?)

I heven't read the batman & robin (dick-dami) comics yet, (shame on me) but I've seen em in other comics and i kidda liked em, soooo, let's just say I was crying along sight with dickie....can ya pring babs to me to?

I'm one of thost fans that YJ got me interested in DC (always been a Marvel fan but they're not doing too hot these days either) With that New 52 thing already underway, what are you opinions on the reboot? Would you recommend I pick it up as a new fan?
Oh, and DUH, I ADORE your New Addition Comics, even if I don't always get what you're directly referencing

Ummm...I dunno, I don't really keep up with the actual issues of DC (though I know how the reboot's going).
Getting into manga first has gotten me into the habit of going for the condensed volumes when they come out first (the point I'm trying to make is that I don't know exactly what's going on in the comics recently except for the little snippets I get from on the Internet).
Plus I never have enough money or time to get individual issues when the come out.
But anyway, my personal recommendation is to stick it out. It looks bad, but all the writers at DC can't make bad decisions all the time. And some writers are probably good at making bad decisions seem okay with how they make the story turn out (like I think the writers are trying to make Damian and Bruce grow more by bonding). Plus as a newcomer you might get the brunt of the bad at the beginning and be just in time for the goodness to come back.
But anyway, that's just me
I'm glad you like them so much. Once summer rolls around I think that's one thing I'm going to start up again

I also liked Damian before even knowing YJ xdddd we are special *-* and i also wanted to cry ._. poor dick had to go back to his nightwing self ._. sucks a lot ._. but i guess 2 batman was a little weird

Marvel does it, it's not so bad means they'll just update the story and art style for new readers can get, it made it easer for me to get the Spider Man story better as well as X-man and the Fanatic 4 =3 and heck sometimes it's good to update a story every once in a while I mean alot of DC comic could use a little bush up on at least the art style for one and some of stories are way behind the times (like have you notice in some of DC other comic stories they are a little bit sexist with how they do females?) it's why DC lose alot of what could be new fans to Marvel. But you have a point if they muck up the Reboot, so it both a win lose thing

Well there are probably some exceptions (there are always exceptions), but from most of what I've seen it's pretty much the same woman's body type when it comes to DC or Marvel. It might be getting better (especially with Marvel, since I know not of what is developing with them), but just from observance it doesn't appear to be.

I love that Barbara is coming back as Batgirl. (That's about the only consistent news I've heard.)

I liked this new bat family. I felt like it was the best thing DC had done with the comic in a long long time.
