Lately I've been hearing a lot about DC having a reboot.
What bothers me most is that I get varying info on what exactly this means.
I've heard that it just means costume changes, I've heard it means that everything's starting over fresh starting from 10 years ago, I've heard that they're just taking everything in a new direction, I've heard it's going to be temporary, I've heard that they're starting over completely, I've heard it's going to be permanent...
So as you can imagine this has made me a little bit bummed out.
Mainly because it seems that DC is undoing a lot of great things they've been building up over the years, like Dick and Damian's partnership, and how awesome Babs has become even after being crippled and put in a wheelchair (not that people in wheelchairs aren't awesome).
The only thing that looks good that's coming out of this supposed reboot is where Jason's ending up.
But heaven knows where that could go.
I swear, american comics are the only comics I know that have backtracked on their own timelines.
If they're rebooting just to get new readers with new storylines (as I have also heard), it probably will just confuse new and old readers alike more than entice them.
And it seems that shows like YJ and stuff have gotten people to actually go to reading DC's stuff, like B & R.
A lot of the people I've seen that get into the YJ fandom quickly get into Damian and the whole Batman family afterwards (I feel special because I liked Damian before I got into YJ ).
BTW, does anyone know what's happening to Damian in this reboot? If he's made Dick's sidekick as Nightwing (which I highly doubt), then I won't mind everything else so much.
Though I'll still be sort've ticked if everything doesn't work out nicely.
Plus, how'm I gonna keep doign these New Addition comics if I have no material to parody?
Anyways, sorry for the rant. I just don't feel good about what's happening over at DC right now.
(Hey does anyone know if this is going to stop House of Hush and The Hist List from coming out anymore?)

Same here!I'm kind of happy that Dick is going back to being Nightwing (even though I'm iffy about the costume, the blue was SOOOO much better and it seemed to 'fit' him better if you get my meaning.)But I really loved him and Damian as Batman and Robin! I don't get why they did it either after Bruce came back he said there was no way he could have Damian as a partner and that he intended to keep Dick and Dami together so WTF?

I'd be okay with it if they weren't touching the original DC timeline and playing around with an alternate universe or something, but no. They're fucking up the main time line (supposedly) and it breaks my heart. But that's okay. We'll still always have fancomics and headcanon.

I KNOW! I cried so much and then you just made me upset all over again! Ugh, I'm so sad now. :C Poor Dick and Damian. I've heard so much like they're getting rid of Steph and Cass, or that Damian won't even exist anymore and I'm so nervous!
I don't understand why they're doing it.
Why not just use the alternate time lines? That's what they're made for, after all.

I don't understand either. I heard it was to get more fans with the new adjustments, but the only adjustment that would get fans would be Jason's.

Yea, they're probably going to lose more fans than they get. I do love Jason, but still. I love Dick and Damian more than Jason...though I do love Dick and Jason together too, and I loved Dick as Nightwing, but I think that Damian needs Dick.

It really is, and its breaking my heart into a billion little tiny pieces.
I grew up with Batman and a lot of these characters who are supposedly going to disappear, and I can't believe that they're just going to get rid of it.

Okay this is what appears to be happening
Dick is going back to Nightwing because Bruce /returns/ to Gotham as Batman. Dick has a new costume (which lacks the fingerstripes T_T)
Damian will continue to exist, but he's to be Robin to Bruce's Batman now, rather than Dick's. Which completely sucks and makes little sense in my mind because Bruce basically left Damian to Dick and now they're making it so that Damian is his Robin as if everything is fine and Bruce never went off doing whatever
Jason is getting his own series with a group called the Outlaws that includes - at least - Starfire and Roy (as Arsenal supposedly, not Red Arrow)
As for Tim there has been no mention
And there's speculation that they're going to haul Babs out of her wheelchair and stick the cowl and bat symbol back on her.
I don't know if all this is set in stone but this is the most widespread speculation

Yes, that's how I feel too. They're much too similar to be working together like that.
I fear that we'll read the comics with those two as Batman and Robin, and it's going to be filled with tense silences, massive amounts of angsting, and frustrated!Damian.
With Dick as Damian's mentor, at least the kid could see an example of someone normal (or as normal as a person can be in that kind of business)
With Bruce as Batman, and Dick not even in Gotham anymore, Damian's just going to become a robot

All around it seems like a terrible idea in terms of team ups.
We d&D lovers can only hope that DC is kind enough to give us plenty of interaction with the two (unlike when Dick first became Nightwing and Jason was Robin)

I think they're going to do that. It's been "confirmed" (as in, some articles say it) that Dick's at least in Gotham for about a year real-world time.
Plus, Dick feels he messed up in regard to Jason. I don't think he'll do it again. he got it right with Tim and Cass, after all.

Oh I really hope so. Otherwise Damian would probably feel abandoned and like Dick never wanted to be his partner.
I also am dying for more interaction with Jason and Dick. Since Jason is on a team with Dick's ex and best friend, there's bound to be meet ups.

The whole "feeling abandonned" thing seems to be a thrend for the fanfic writers.
As to the Outlaws, yeah, Dick's in for a shocker there! (if they kepper Morrison's Jason's apparence, they're all redheads, too. Aka Dick's "type" in most media. Man are people going nuts over that). I still want to know why Roy has his arm back, though.

They're pulling Babs out of the wheelchair and putting her back in the cape and cowl. Most likely they'll just act like it never happened, or that somehow Roy has a working, permanent prosthetic.

I don't know if it's only me, but I've been seeing a lot of similarities between Damian and Jason. Jason didn't really have Dick as an older brother to guide him, and Bruce was, well, Bruce. And everyone knows what happened to Jason.
I really hope Dick will be there for Damian like he wasn't for Jason, so something similar doesn't happen to Damian

They were mine too ( and they were the only reason I starting reading the comics. Otherwise I'd still be watching the TV shows. You'd think they'd ask the fans about these things if they're going to do something like this assuming the fans want it).
