Lately I've been hearing a lot about DC having a reboot.
What bothers me most is that I get varying info on what exactly this means.
I've heard that it just means costume changes, I've heard it means that everything's starting over fresh starting from 10 years ago, I've heard that they're just taking everything in a new direction, I've heard it's going to be temporary, I've heard that they're starting over completely, I've heard it's going to be permanent...
So as you can imagine this has made me a little bit bummed out.
Mainly because it seems that DC is undoing a lot of great things they've been building up over the years, like Dick and Damian's partnership, and how awesome Babs has become even after being crippled and put in a wheelchair (not that people in wheelchairs aren't awesome).
The only thing that looks good that's coming out of this supposed reboot is where Jason's ending up.
But heaven knows where that could go.
I swear, american comics are the only comics I know that have backtracked on their own timelines.
If they're rebooting just to get new readers with new storylines (as I have also heard), it probably will just confuse new and old readers alike more than entice them.
And it seems that shows like YJ and stuff have gotten people to actually go to reading DC's stuff, like B & R.
A lot of the people I've seen that get into the YJ fandom quickly get into Damian and the whole Batman family afterwards (I feel special because I liked Damian before I got into YJ ).
BTW, does anyone know what's happening to Damian in this reboot? If he's made Dick's sidekick as Nightwing (which I highly doubt), then I won't mind everything else so much.
Though I'll still be sort've ticked if everything doesn't work out nicely.
Plus, how'm I gonna keep doign these New Addition comics if I have no material to parody?
Anyways, sorry for the rant. I just don't feel good about what's happening over at DC right now.
(Hey does anyone know if this is going to stop House of Hush and The Hist List from coming out anymore?)

Yeah seriously. I got into DC last year and I caught up lickety split.
Darn DC. They should take polls again, like they did with Jason Todd. Or maybe they're just listening to the really old fans that don't like anything but the original batman or something.

If they are doing it for the original fans then I doubt the original fans are all that happy with this either. One thing that bugs me is Starfire in a comic that features anti-heroes. Since when was Star an anti-hero?

The official blog for DC says that Dick is returning as Nightwing (In a red costume, if the cover art is to be believed... Dick belongs in Blue, Darn it!) and Damian is going to be Robin, with Bruce as Batman.

Exactly. She's so awesome as Oracle. She's great in the mentor role for Stephanie. I LOVE Stephanie.
Tim's my favorite character. Not just in Batman, but in all of DC. He's the one who's been screwed over the most, but he's never let that corrupt him. Because he chose to be Robin, a lot of people he loved died. But look, he's still going strong. If they ignore him (or screw up his character), I will consider giving up.

Yeah, I'm a little bummed too. I had the first comic with Damian in it back when it was brand new and immediately fell in love with the character. I've collected all things Damian since. XD
I have no idea what path this reboot is following though, so I'm a little worried. I've really enjoyed Batman and Robin.

We'll see. For a long time Ultimate Spider-man was one of my favorite comics, and it was basically a full reboot. Maybe some good will come out of this. Are there any comics that they aren't rebooting? The Batman and Robin comics haven't even made it to issue 50 and Batman Incorporated is even younger than that, it seems odd to me that they'd bail on them so early. And... Is there any info pointing to a Bruce/Damian Batman/Robin or is that just fan speculation?

Yeah, it's odd to me too. But maybe we're getting hyped up about this too soon. We'll just have to think positively about this, and if it turns out badly, we always have fandom (everyone so far has said Bruce and Damain are the new B & R, so I guess that's a fact

though, honestly, even THAT might not work...
and i've heard all sorts of rumors by now too, so i have absolutely no clue what's going on... i'm hoping it's all just an evil rumor and they're not gonna do anything major (ESPECIALLY not break up Dick and Damian), but that seems extremely unlikely

i REALLY hope that -if they do all these HORRENDOUS changes- they at LEAST transition them well. like a touching Damian and Dick goodbye,
and maybe Dick testing out the red suit (
and if Babs gets out of a wheelchair it's not just some random miracle or 'cause she never got shot in the first place (that would kill the Birds of Prey), it's 'cause Bruce bought the technology to fix her spine (like Talia fixed up Damian after that fight with Flamingo)
but then again, that wouldn't be changing the timeline which is what they want to do right?

I don't know. I really hope that they still print all the B & R books and everything. I've been dying to read House of Hush and the Hit List too.
I hope it transitions well too. From all the comments I've gotten so far, they're tweaking for the future, not messing with the past (at least that's what the buzz is).

(i loved Batman a lot even before i watched yj, but that IS what got me into the comics, so i'm still catching up with everything, though i do know the basic plot-line of most things from fan art and wikipedia

I heard several theories on Damian- most of them say that he'll be with Bruce. I don't want the reboot either! I'm happy with Dick and Damian as Batman and Robin! They're so cute together.
