Description
One more sketch. This is only version. I'm not going to work with her, just as the stage of search.I tried to make the beast with an aggressive face. Do not like it. More appropriate representation of the battle, but in fact unnatural. Such face may be under attack, or a small wound, such as stroke with paw. With a serious wound likely grimace of pain. And a sharp turn of the head and body toward the wound. That specifically looking hunting videos ...
Now draw another version. I feel I will tormented for a long time with this storyline. Thank you to everyone who responded to the the first sketch. It made me work)

even if its better than the old sketch I would suggest for some change in the pose itself, cause the hindlegs are like the lion is walking or just tries to stand stronger, but the forearms(or upper body) is bend and the arms seems to be too much forward, I mean the danger isnt in the front, and the backlegs say, that he isnt running, so why are the paws up like he is jumping on something? maybe it would fit better to his aggressive pose, when he has one paw on the ground (the front right one) and the other leg in a slapping pose, like he is trying to rip that little thing away or something. also it would be good if the front paws are following the bend of the body.
about the head: I think its position is ok, because I've seen animals "snapping" at their opponent instead of trying to avoid the weapon(pain)(i dont even know if big cats would know that a knife can hurt them, because they dont know knifes)
I like the pose of the small one, cause it looks like its trying to not get caught by the lions mouth, also its trying to stagger it with a face: I hope that works! In a fight of life it also fits that he scratches the lion accidentially while trying to not fall off, maybe bending its tail in the other direction would make it more appear as its trying to stay on the lion.
I hope you'll finish it somewhen it looks really promising^^

Who cares if the pose isn't right? The anatomy is astounding! Where did you learn how to draw animals???

I like the poses better overall, but I do agree that the face isn't quite as natural.

atleast the legs look better, but yes a creature wouldn't turn into something stabbing him, he'd turn away or roar with his head up. trying to get away from the pain and shake off the assailant.

I love the expressions in this. Like the attacker has given that attack their all and is thinking "Please, please let that have worked" and there is such determination there. And the beast is FURIOUS and yet you can see in his eyes he's thinking, that's a BAD would... this might not end how I thought it would...

Yes ... the beast out of luck)
"The fighting beast - a dangerous foe. His is impossible to take attrition, only one exact impact. If one minute after the battle begins, your foe will be alive by the end of the battle you'll be dead."
Thank you! In fact, work in progress. Change much. But it will remain as a sketch)

hummm I rather like this one....I was a groomer for 22 years... it has been my experience with aggressive dogs that if you accidentally hurt them (say like pull to hard removing a matt, or nick them with the clippers) ...they come around on you with just exactly this look on their face before they try to take your hand off! You learn to read them pretty darn quick in order to avoid being bitten. Heck...they don't SEEM to register the pain at all...just come around with that "I am going to rip your face off" look.

I like this one, it looks like the hunter caught up with the lion, grabbed the mane in the neck and swung to bury the dagger into the neck of the lion, just as it reacted to getting caught up. I don't think the lion has really noticed the dagger yet, as its not very big and doesn't look like its very long so it can't be buried very deep, but enough to draw blood.
Love the pose of both!

Hehe, well, if enough blades to cut a vein or windpipe... That question only in the skill of the warrior)

Indeed, even a small blade can kill if used correctly
Will you ever finish this? I'd love to see it finished, even if you change it!

*Sigh* I really love your artworks, but I know what you mean... Now it looks like the lion is even pushing itself into the dagger. The head tilted to the front, but fangs showing, so that he snarls, afraid or something, may have been better? Sigh, I suck in redlines D: Well, at least I'll have the scetch as fave
