Epiphany blues.initially, this concept portrait was meant to stay hidden along with many ninja talkshow concept, but i realized that this portrait is little below my standard for Ninja talkshow concept library.
well, i like the outcome, but Epiphany happens to be very valuable, gravitating character in the first volume of the NTS series, so i will have to take another shot at depicting this beauty.
as usual, i didn use any references on this, and i might just try using references on next piece, bringing up the "realistic" value another notch.
of course, ive done some stylized portraites before, like Astrochics character portrait collections [link] but giving it a realistic twist on portrait is quite a new challenge for me.
my focus as to keep the simplistic beauty in feminine facial future, yet giving subtle details.
this picture took a whole day of work, and i can proudly say that my speed in painting has gone up another plateau. result is pleasing to me as far as style, and the level of detail, but its just not quite "epiphany beauty" i wanna convey in her portrait.

this portrait was designed for inside comicbook cover (where credits go) of NTS series. which spotlights each key characters of the chapter. first one happens to be EPIHANY.

I love the details in her hair and in the clothes !! I especially like the bg..just after watching "The flying daggers" for the 3rd time, this pic is perfect to stay in the move...lol
What is also nice is the contrast between the very peaceful bg and her face, very simple, and the details of the...the stuff in her hair...especially the wave on the...piece of paper ?

Quick fix on the face would be to move her right eye a little closer to her nose and to show the join of the right side of her lips which is currently hidden by the perspective. Looking forward to seeing more of her though. She's a babe

hm something about the nose and the lips seems weird to me. its probably my eyes playing tricks on me but it looks like the nose and lips are going in somehow, i dont know exactly how to describe it. kind of like the inside of a mask. i love the design on the clothes though, subtle but not really.
