Description
Taken summer 2013 of a cloudy sunrise on the beach during my graduation trip to North Padre Island. The title and light play idea make this kind of a sequel to "Raye of Hope."Awesomely unintentional companion poem by haphazardmelody :
CourageSunlight peers cautiously over thunder-dark clouds,
reminding me that although it is important to look to
the horizon for inspiration -
- even the sun itself sometimes needs
a little courage.

This is gorgeous! I love how you've captured the Sun breaking through the clouds and playing upon the water.

Thank you, Kate! It was my intent, but at the time I didn't know I'd actually succeeded, being that it was a very overcast morning and I only have light perception. I'm so glad it turned out actually better than my mind's eye could ever have envisioned--it's got some gray and some color, and I think that was a perfect snapshot of my heart at the time.

Haha aww, thank you! It's one of my favorites, because I had to work so hard to get it just right. Even then, I wasn't sure I'd gotten the shot I wanted, but it really grew on me. A friend also enlightened me to the fact that there's a whole lot more color in it than I realized, because the son came out a bit. I like that hopeful vibe.

You should feel really happy with it, it's simply beautiful. And your friend is right, there are so many colours in it, the sunset almost contrasts with the dark watery bit. It's a really nice photo <3

Oops, did I call it a sunset in my earlier comment? It's a sunrise. And yeah, I couldn't see all the color. I'd assumed more silver and gray tones, so I'm glad there was a mix of both.

I'm not sure, but I always get confused between both. It's beautiful, anyhow
