Description
This is the second design I made for a prehistoric Genesect. This one is more thought out, and more unique looking, in my opinion. Instead of just drawing a prehistoric insect, I thought it would be better if I added some features from present day bug Pokemon. Like, what if Primisect was one of the first bug Pokemon to develop predator traits used for hunting and passed those traits down to modern day bug Pokemon. Most other prehistoric bug Pokemon died out and their traits were not passed down. Natural selection, if you will. Now, back to Primisect itself. I suppose Team Plasma would heavily modify a Pokemon in order to make it the way they want it to be. There would be advantages and drawbacks to what Team Plasma did. They would remove the heavy tufts of brown fur that are on Primisect to make Genesect much quicker, but this would affect Primisects breeding habits. Since Primisect would use the fur to store and protect their eggs, Genesect is no longer able to breed. The wings were removed and replaced with jets, which will explain Genesect's ability to use fly. There is also a natural gun, similar to what Blastoise has, under Primisects fur, but it was enlarged and upgraded on Genesect.
Those were just some explanations I thought of while I was drawing this. I did not reread what I wrote, so if it doesn't make sense, then oh well. If enough people like this design of it, I will try and draw a Sugimori styled one.

This version resembles a Ki Hunter from the Metroid series...

Does have a resemblance. Never noticed, since I haven't played any Metroid games.

You should try them. (Just not Other M.)

Funny thing is that the Metroid series has always been on my list of games to play, but I've always ended up not getting to it. One of these days though, I'll get to it.

It's an old, classic series. In that sense, it's one of those that don't die easily in the eyes of its fans.

True. For the most part, I've only heard good things about the series. Classics are pretty much immortal. At least the popular classics anyways.

For Metroid, there are 2 "series"es:
The Classic
Metroid 1, Metroid II: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Other M, Metroid: Zero Mission.
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime, Prime 2: Echoes, Prime 3: Corruption: Prime: Pinball, Prime: Hunters
With the exceptions of the last three listed, the Classic series is pretty much a winner with all who claim to be Metroid fans.
With Metroid Prime, Classic players have needed to adapt to a new play style (FPS), but there are plenty (myself included) that liked the jump.
You just need to try several of them first to get the hang of it, then decide what kind of play style best fits your gaming-wants.

Thanks for listing them out for me. I'll definitely have to play them some time.
