Description So here's the pattern for the toriel plushie I posted 2 weeks ago.

You can also buy it on my etsy !

You get:
- Complete set of instructions
- The full pattern, with markings to show what stuff is and all scaled to A4 (here's a sample )
- .pes files for the face and royal crest embroidery
- .psd and .sai files for the pattern so you can move stuff around
- tech support from me if you get confused or if something is unclear

You are allowed to modify the pattern as you wish and even use it for future projects. Please don't just take this pattern and make loads of plushies from it to sell!

If you do make a plushie out of this, let me know, I'd love to see how it turned out! Feedback on my pattern or instructions is also welcome, since this is my first time doing this!

All standard legal stuff applies; I will not be held responsible if something goes horribly wrong, this is a digital product so I can't give refunds, etc etc.

Also, if you'd rather draw me something or trade one of your own plushie patterns, that works too! Send me an email at (hoppiphoppip at gmail) if you're interested.

Neither, you'll receive a set of instructions on how to make one yourself -- that's what a pattern is!

That's not completely true. There are these cards that are Fan Made. Those are on the market

"For the record, I’m OK with one-off commissions (such as the clay models, that felt toriel plush, a drawing of a skeleton you paid someone to do, etc.) but when products show up mass produced at a con or on a website, then we’re going to have a problem."

okay...?
that proves my point
this pattern can be bought by an infinite number of people, so it's mass-produced

what is okay, from my understanding, are things done for one person (like, say, selling just one plushie, or drawing a commission of an undertale character)

The pattern is just a set of instructions though. I guess you can print out as many copies of the pattern as you want!

The problem with releasing or selling Undertale patterns, is that it's on the line of mass-production, considering with that pattern anyone can make as many as they want. Β That could have the HIGH Risk of people making say 10 and selling them on Ebay for their own personal profit.Β

And considering Toby is going to sale a Official Toriel plush, this could hurt his business. Β

If someone were to take the pattern and then mass produce them, then the issue of mass production would be their fault and not mine. The pattern is just a tool that speeds up the process of making one. If someone really wanted to mass produce toriel, they could easily just make up their own pattern for it.

well yeah
but it's instructions to make a plushie of an undertale character
and you can't sell unofficial undertale merch... (this costs money, so it's being sold)
do you see the problem here

hoppip In reply to dreamydark [2015-12-13 20:02:50 +0000 UTC]

Do you consider instructions to be merchandise?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dreamydark In reply to hoppip [2015-12-13 20:05:05 +0000 UTC]

since it's for an undertale character, i think it would be?
and it is being sold, so...
yeah

hoppip In reply to dreamydark [2015-12-13 22:15:57 +0000 UTC]

As an example, if I made a tutorial on how to draw an undertale character and sold that would you consider that to be "merchandise" as well?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dreamydark In reply to hoppip [2015-12-13 22:20:53 +0000 UTC]

yes...?
since it's still something copyrighted by the creator
and you're making money off of it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

hoppip In reply to dreamydark [2015-12-13 22:35:52 +0000 UTC]

But it doesn't have the character on it. It shows you how to potentially make something.

dreamydark In reply to hoppip [2015-12-13 22:45:17 +0000 UTC]

i suppose
but it's still someone else's design that you're making money off, right...
