Description
The Sindarin title refers to those crow-like birds of Dunland and Fangorn on Middle-Earth, that flew in great flock to spy the Fellowship of the Ring through they way to Mullin. When I was to shoot blue hour images of Badacsony and Lake Balaton at Szigliget, suddenly a great flock of crows appeared from West and darted over me to East with loud noise and swirling flight. First I thought they're starlings, but they weren't. I never saw so many crows in a single flock and they were quite scary with the unearthily red sky that is not so rare at Lake Balaton, but always a marvel. As an established Tolkien fan my first thought was of the Crebain and I listened to the wind wether I hear Saruman's voice of weather spell. I didn't.This image is taken at yacht port of Szigliget, near Badacsony, by the Lake Balaton in Hungary , Europe. That place is the cultural anchor of the area that had major role in Hungarian painters' history—a kind of Arcadia in the Balaton Uplands.
