From what I can tell in Avenging Spider-Man #9-10, Captain Marvel #1 and the New Avengers series during Dark Reign, Siege and the Heroic Age they are roughly in the same age group. Late 20's or early 30's. (Whatever makes my fan favourite pairing plausible, I'm game!)

Peter Parker was just a freshman at Empire State University when Carol Danvers made her first appearance in Marvel Super-Heroes Vol 1 13. At that time she was head of security for NASA. Before that she was in the Air Force which she joined because her father wouldn't pay for her college but the Air Force would. After graduationΒ she rose through the ranks quickly andΒ was then trained in espionage. She even went on some missions with Wolverine when he was still with Department H. Given the schooling, training and time spent operational before her time at NASA, Carol would be at least 10 to 15 years older than Peter.
Which just makes it hotter.

Really? 'Cause when they first meet in Ms. Marvel #1 (even though it is brief) she looks to be MJ's age since she and Peter were married at that time.
This is reinforced by how age and time doesn't really have relevance as to when characters age.

Given the way John Buscema draws women, all kinda "same face", unless the story required a female character be portrayed as "old", they all look more or less the same.
The sliding time scale is tricky as it dosen't apply equally to everyone, but Carol's pre-heroic age exploits alongside the likes of Wolverine and Ben Grimm are canon until retconned.

Your right, it depends on the artist as well as that can make a character look older or younger than they are.
Still we're not here to debate. We're here to favourite a good cosplay!
