Im only happy when it rains
Im only happy when its complicated
And though I know you cant appreciate it
Im only happy when it rains
You know I love it when the news is bad
And why it feels so good to feel so sad
Im only happy when it rains...
-- Garbage "I'm Only Happy When it Rains"
It's new character time. She doesn't have a name yet (suggestions are open of course) Here name is Khloe Meretseger (or just Khloe), and like Dr. Ryan and Morpheus, she is a Metafluke; a foil to the Neo-Children, and much like her "brothers", she suffers from some psychosis. She also has a bit of an Inferiority Complex as well as some Borderline-Personality Disorder.
She wields a cane-like weapon that can come apart (similar to Ivy from Soul Calibur's "Snake Sword"), which she can control via telekinesis. In battle she wraps the cane around opponents (usually about the neck) and drains their energy through the weapon into herself. She also possesses fangs and a venomous bite as well as the ability to manipulate the snake "Tattoo" around her arm.
I worked on this damned thing for nearly a week. I know the lighting is probably inconsistent and the anatomy is off in places, but really...I'm just glad to have this damned thing finished.
And no she did not come in from the rain unless she possesses plastic-covered couch powers.
Khloe Meretseger Copyright © 2010 Jennifer Hopkins/Hotaru Thodt
Edit: Here name is "Khloe Meretseger." Thanks for all the name suggestions.

Beautiful woman + corset + snake bite piercing = LOVE.
She is really pretty, but somehow dangerous at the same time. I am mesmerized by what you did with her eyes and her lips <3

Thank you so much. I used a photo reference for her face (linked in description), and I think the glowing eyes is one of my artist's trademarks. >.>;

lolz. After hours of trying to get the face right you mean. I try to go back on my old caricature work I did back in middle school and try using that when designing characters. Of course this character is supposed to resemble Fairuza Balk.

I could try to do a face right, but no matter how much time I'd spend, it wouldn't happen >_>;; This is why I don't do realism XD
I...I dont know how Fairzua Balk is? *doesnt know celebs*

Fairuza Balk played Nancy in the Craft and (as a little girl) played Dorothy in Return to Oz.
I used to do semi-realism until the anime bug got me, but now I'm trying integrate it into my current style. >.>;

Dude, you should. Return to Oz is a sort of Psuedo-sequeal to the MGM classic version, but it lacks singing and is more true to Mr. Baum's books in that its darker. >.>;

It's been on my list for a while, but I just haven't found the time/remembered to get to it yet
And in honesty, I hated the version with Judy Garland. Too sicky-sweet for me (except the Wicked Witch of course, she was hardcore). I Just can't mention this fact at most family gatherings since my sister is a HUGE Judy Garland fan >_>;;

The MGM Musical with Judy Garland was a Thanksgiving tradition for YEARS around here, mostly because my mom loves the movie. I used to love it when I was little too *knew Somewhere over the Rainbow by heart when she was little and was forced to sing it...a lot*. Wizard of Oz still holds a special place for me though.
Although it's odd watching Fairuza balk play little Dorothy in Return to Oz and then watch her in the Craft though. Because she's kind of creepy/hot. >.>;

Yey hotness? ;;
I was forced to watch the musical too, mostly by my sister. It's never been my thing, really; I hated it even as a kid But I always bite my tongue around her, because she's likely to go on a murderous rampage if I tell her that I dislike the movie (nothing against Judy Garland, mind you; I think she was a great singer).
Maybe I'll watch Return to Oz tonight...hmm...

Like what you did with the snake motif. The slithering snake earrings, necklace, the tattoo, and the scales on her shirt. The fishnets also put a scale-like pattern on her skin, adding to that whole reptilian theme.

AWESOMNESS!! You did a phenominal job on the snake skin pattern on her top...
Name could always refer to the old myths of the Gorgon sisters...the terrifying serpent sisters named:
Medusa, Stheno, and Euryale

Thank you. Sadly I can't take credit on the snakeskin corset pattern. It's a brush from ~redheadstock . ^.^;
That's a good idea. I wanted something a little more subtle though, and I might want to use the real Gorgons for NeverRealms at some point. Same goes for the Furies. ^.^;

Meretseger - (Egyptian name means "she who loves silence"...cobra headed goddess)
Ananta - (Hindu) is the endless snake who circles the world.

Hmmm...all these are good names. You and *screamin-jazzy bot suggested "Meretseger" so I'll definitely being using that as a surename. I'm thinking her named might be "Khloe." It's simply and she used to be human afterall.

And I love the shape of her, she looks like a 'real' woman, to use the cliche term. Some awesome hips on her! fantatsic work as ever.

Thank you for the compliment. It took me forever to figure out how to make a good rainy shot.
