So does anyone remember this soldier? No? Me neither.
In all seriousness, I originally created SailorSolInvictus for DracheaRannak's Sailor Sun/Sailor Earth contest back in 2009, but afterwards I didn't do too much with her. I had planned on introducing her in the RP "Moon Cell" with AnarchicQ but we didn't get very far with that, so a couple of years later I let Madwon borrow her for a few commissions he was receiving from DracheaRannak and Sir-Frog . With that she gained a little popularity, but given I had drawn her one time, only a few people in the SailorMoon fandom knew where she had actually came from. Hell, a few people even thought DracheaRannak had created her.
Then my friend Sir-Frog advised that I draw SailorSolInvictus once again so people would know who created her in the first place and so it was done. Aside from her big-ass yaoi (Yuri?) hands I think the new version came out pretty well. I'm not sure about my lineart, but my colouring has surely improved. I SWEAR I'll get back to posting OCs and other things in the future (I actually have some finished non-sailor pics), but for now...Sailors!

Thanks. Actually her hair if five-toned. I kind of "cheat" and use a custom fire gradient (which I made) in PhotoShop for it.

A bit inaccurate of me, I meant two-toned as in different colours in the roots and the tips. For some reason I think gradients just happen normally in hair, whops!

Maybe her left hand needs a little work but I'm no judge since I still suck at them in general. Good to see you're still working hard; haven't had time to do too much due to all sorts of life stupid. Anyway, definitely a major improvement on armor. So pretty and shiny. Love that you kept the Roman-like theme. Beautiful lighting, color and composition too. (Digging the badass pose too.)

Maybe the symbol for Ra ( I know, I've watched Stargate too often ) would be appropriate. Or Aten, the version of the Sun god popularized by Pharaoh Akhenaten. Alas, neither the Aten nor Akhenaten were popular for long.

I'm not sure given I was mainly inspired by more Greco-Roman designs for this character, and even though they have overlapped in history, Egyptian elements on the Greco-Roman design might look a bit odd. Thanks though. : )

This is a fantastic design, I love all of the detail you've added and the metal is particularly successful in execution. I like that you kept the traditional elements of the sailor scout uniform but added a really unique twist over all. Her overall pose and stance is also really nice. Great job!

Thank you very much. When I originally made this gal for Drachea's contest back in 2009 the requirments were she had to have the front and back bows, the skirt, a tiara, and a collar so it was a bit of a challenge to make her look unique. I'm glad it worked out in the end. : )

Well, she is the embodiment of the Sun...and yeah. The spiky crown was inspired by one of Feliane 's designs for a Summer-themed dress. XD
I made the fire gradient myself. I'd share, but I'm constantly updating the pack. ^.^;

Thanks you, I was afraid I had gotten her legs a bit too long for her shortness (the Sun is a yellow dwarf star, so it makes sense that she's short). Well, personally I don't think tanning salons are healthy, but what do I know, I'm paler than a sheet of copy paper.

Nope, they look just fine 
Well, I have a horrible inferiority complex because of my natural skin tone, when I was a child everyone thought I was pale because I suffered from some kind of illness. Imagine some of D'Vorah's yellowness and add Quan Chi's paleness and dark under eye circles and you get what I'd look if I wouldn't get a tan 
Thankfully I tan easily and I don't ever get a sunburn. I go six minutes and no more, once a week but sometimes I skip a week or even two in the wintertime. I also use some self tanner on my face.

Oh well I I can somewhat relate. I have my dad's skintone as it is (He was very Irish...American), but I became anemic when I was a baby so I looked pretty poorly up until I hit puberty.
I try to avoid the sun a bit myself since skin cancer runs on my dad's side plus I burn easily and then when I start peeling I pick at it.

I was slightly anemic too. As I child I regularly had my fingertip pricked for a blood sample and I hated it!
You must have cool undertones then. Warm undertones rarely ever burn. But of course, it's wise being careful with tanning in any case.

Ewwww! I had the to go through the same crap up until I was nine. Now I have a nasty phobic when it comes to blood lancets and if they have to check for diabeetus I BEG the doctor's to use needles and/or go into a panic. ^.^;
That sounds about right. When I was little my legs would tan and nothing else, but now they burn too.

I am always absolutely stunned by your artwork. Even before I met you in person. I'm always eager to see what's next to be uploaded into your gallery.
The thought and attention to detail you apply is masterful. Each of your character designs are so well thought out and executed, personally I'm jealous. LOL I'm surprised you're not working for a major comic agency or publishing art books. I could also see these becoming a playing card game franchise like Magic and then moving forward to action figures and so on.
