"Mr. Moto, Bitches!"
FULL VIEW! This thing looks TERRIBLE small!
I REALLY do not like DA's "Version 7" layout, so here I am submitting another boring bust shot I'm well-known for in an attempt to take my mind off it. Yay...
Morpheus' posing here looks a lot like my previous bust of Samael, doesn't it? But really, I just wanted to get Morpheus facial structure down as well as attempt realism yet again since he's supposed to look (and sound) like Peter Lorre. Of course Morpheus wound up looking like a cross between the real Peter Lorre and the Peter Lorre caricatures from various old Warner Bros. cartoons. I kind of like it though since it shows off what he looks like without his mask-thinger.
The quote on the piece comes from the old Warner Bros. cartoon "HollyWood Steps Out" where the caricature of Peter Lorre makes the same exact quote...while watching the caricature of Sally Rand dance nude with a giant bubble.
I need to draw a full-body picture of Morpheus ...perhaps contorting his body. Does anyone know where I might find some high quality pictures of male contortionists?

I actually based this character on the late great Peter Lorre. Also, I'm sticking with my 1966 Dark Shadows.

You're getting good at realism, the shading give it a very real feel.
He reminds me of Peter Heppner... >.>

Dude, he does look like Peter Heppner *has wonders of Petter Heppner is the reincarnation of Peter Lorre for awhile now*, but Morpheus here is actually based on Peter Lorre, and a little German actor (and a damned good one) who was usually cast as a sinister foreigner, but he is known for playing Japanese Detective Mr. Moto as well.

When I saw this, I instantly went "He looks like Peter Lorre" and I read your description and it made me giggle! I'm a huge Lorre fan (and a Mr. Moto fan)! I never thought he would look so awesome and sexy as a badass cenobite!

Well, I'm glad I got the Peter Lorre look down. I'm also a big Peter Lorre fan myself, and I had to make a character in his likeness. Morpheus here isn't really a cenobite, but he is heavily inspired by them. Thank you very much. ^_^

Oh. It's okay in your case. Some people assume some of my characters have scars (like the stitching in Ryan's face for example) and it just gets annoying to constantly have to say that its stitching is all. I'm don't blame you at all though. Usually when I make scars, they're big and meaty.

Thank you very much. I feel that, as a Peter Lorre-based character, Morpheus here should be at least a little kreepy.

Of course. Too kreepy might ruin the overall effect.

So, that's how he looks without his mask... Beautiful portrait. He would look awesome in a nice black suit. He has the face (except the scars) for this kind of clothing. Too bad for the nails. Well, if he can control their length, a pair of leather gloves would be nice. To hide his real personnality.
This bubble... must the same when he was in his "bubble". We weren't seeing things the same way as a child as an adult now.

I've thought of putting him in a nice black suit actually. I mean Peter Lorre was an actor when prohibition was all the rage so why not.
Actually the I think the bubble quote is a reference to the Peter Lorre movie "M" where Peter Lorre played a child killer. ^.^;

I checked for "M". Interesting movie. On the spot I thought you were referring to "Dial M For Murder". Not the same at all. It is said a Blueray version on the movie will go out this year.

Just out of curiosity, was Morpheus based on Peter Lorre? Those heavy eyelids and deep-set eyes along with the full lips and just everything. He looks so much like Peter Lorre, which is I rather like^^ I really like the lighting of this piece because you use the shadows to your advantage to draw out just how creepy he is. My favorite part of this piece is his expression. Very nicely done!

Actually, he IS based on Peter Lorre from his look to the sound of his voice *is trying to figure out the phonetics of Mr. Lorre's voice for RP purposes*. It says so in the description on both of my Morpheus pics too.
Oddly enugh for face and shadow reference I used the character Mr. Moto, which is one of the few not so creepy characters Lorre played throughout his acting career, but I'm glad I pulled off the creepy Thanks!

I did read the description for this one and saw the reference to Peter Lorre, but I must have missed "This is based on Peter Lorre" in the first Morpheus picture. *goes to find it* Okay, found it in the description of the first picture. I WEEEN!
I'm always a little leery of older movies portraying people from the Far East because the stereotyping can be painful. The Mr. Moto films look pretty interesting, though. For some reason, Wikipedia lists "magic" as one of Mr. Moto's abilities. Not sure what to think of that. Anyways, I don't see much of Mr. Moto in your drawing. Rather, I'm seeing more of Lorre's character from Casablanca. If you need to face any other characters, some of the famous actors from "Hollywood Steps Out" might be worth looking at. Clark Gable look-alike might be fun.

Man, I'd like to see Mr. Moto and Ms. Swan team up for pure lulz actually. I did use Mr. Moto as a refrence for face shape and shadows, but when it comes to Morpehus here, I was trying to channel Dr. Einstein (Arsenic and Old Lace), Dr. Lorentz (The Boogieman Will Get You) and maybe some Dr. Gogol (Mad Love thrown in for extra kreepiness. I do see what you mean about the Casablanca though, although I haven't seen Casablanca since I was a kid.
Man, a Clark Gable character would be fun, of course right now I'm laughing at that one part in "Hollywood Steps Out" where he's following the "women" doing the COnga, looks at the camera and says "It's me again!"
I do need to find a face for Vangloria though. Perhaps Greta Garbo...of course not the caricature from "Hollywood Steps Out" though. Ms. Garbo was much too gorgous for that.

Yay! *clicks for bendy men piccys!* I keep getting this image of Lucifuge waking up in the middle of the night to find a very nude and very sleeping Gwendel in the bed next to him. Gwendel subconsciously wants silky sheets perhaps and sleepwalks to Lucifuge's room?

not an impossible situation, of course once Shyam cracks out of his cocoon he wont need to sleep in the nursery any more... and if he is denied silky sheets he might unconciously go seeking some XD... sort of wish i had had him slip into Lucifuge's bed with Shyam because Shyam would be hatching soon and wanted to be near his daddy
