Description
So they tried to get out...but only made it to the beach----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fishing trawlers washed ashore in stormy seas 2 weeks ago.
Unluckily there weren't any clouds so I had to make do with the clear skies.
This is Melkbosstrand, South Africa and you can see Table Mountain and Cape Town in on the Horizon

The blurring of the watter almost makes it look like feathers or flames, sorta kinda. Really really nice

How did you shoot this, eventhough the shutter speed was quite fast at 1/3?
Amazing photo. Makes me want to go to cape town again... I'm so poor...

what do you mean? that was the captured wave moment in 0.33 secs

ToxicSquirrel In reply to hougaard [2008-08-11 13:55:10 +0000 UTC]
Well the waves are blurry and spongy. 1/3 shutter speed is kind of fast, that seems like 1.5 secs at least.
Anyway, I'm getting too technical...I'll go on drooling over the beauty of the waves.

ahm i have planned for a long time to do a architecture competition when i was near the 50k pageviews mark. i want to help promote an area oof photography that i feel is lacking attention which it deserves. so i called the finest architecture photographers on da to help me run a competition. was wondering if you wanted to enter as i don't see one architecture shot in your gallery?

I live in a historic town and there's barely a glass or metal facade around. I stand no chance against the people in cities

most of the judges galleries contain historic architecture photography. hehe i live in the middle of nowhere, although i obviously can't enter. if you have a decent church or cathedral, take a shot at twilight or at night (where you can get sweet results with lights), it's up too you. lol i have asked juha and gordon the same thing

it was about 30 minutes before sunset and the circular polarizer helped a lot

I think black and white scheme would make this photograph more expressive, cuz the scenery is rather interesting but the result is quit dull...
