Description
I'm just submitting for the sake of submitting. There's another shot of this comp about 18 months back in my gallery, and this is still far from perfect in my mind. I need to photograph this comp much closer to summer solstice, but I couldn't resist.Kogelbay, South Africa
5D II
Zeiss distagon 18mm
Lee 0.9 soft grad
blend of 3 exposures (damn difficult blend to say the least)

I like the slight overexposure on this one dude. Nice thirds with the rocks in the bottom

how did you get the water to look like that?! It's amazing!

Ah, the light on the foreground rocks makes up for the fact that the background rocks are in shadow. Works fine for me, and the exposure is spot on

Thanks Andy. Was an awesome sunset, but I think I wasted it by shooting this. I'll shoot it in October before I leave on my first summer trip.

Looks like a tricky blend for sure, bit dark to be honest, but nice all the same

Fantastic work as always.
Comp is perfect, and the colors are fantastic.
Just curious to your comment about the summer soltice, what changes in the light would you be getting???

The sky is fantastic and I love the foreground, but I find the dark cliff face a bit oppressive to be honest

yeah, the DR is quite ridiculous. It's a blend of 3 exposures, shot with a 3 stop grad. I'll nail this comp in the summer.
