Beautiful! I love how some quail look like they're wearing a roaring 20's headband

I think California Quail always look in a hurry, but always perfectly groomed and jauntily dressed. They must always be heading for a party!

I know, but I don't have any partridges running around on my property. The only thing we have is Blue Jays, Spotted Towhees, Doves, Mockingbirds, Crows, Road Runners, and California Quail. This is as close as I can get to a partridge here in Southern California. Santa isn't coming to my house because I've been naughty all year, or at least that's what I've told James and Joshua. They can't figure out how I could have been so bad that Santa won't even come visit. I can't send you a Christmas Present unless you note me where you live now. Plus you haven't let me know how your art show went? Was it fun? Merry Christmas!!!

i am still at the Marina, and the show is still going on..My opening night was a success,,,i think
the response was more than i could of hoped for Annie..they all sat so quietly when i told of the orbs and how the story came to be..many questions were asked that night..some thought me somewhat tilted in my views of art..I had this painter(at the show) tell me that he did this series many years ago..he was blabbing how my work was mediocre and ok for a beginner, and that i should try some other medium..(between you and i,,i almost put my fist right through his face..then i thought*maybe he is jealous* so i did not converse with him anymore..but he sure listened intently to the story
so all and all a success, i sold 6 that night and have some orders for "Confrontation of Sorts" they liked it best(its Black and White) and a publisher here in town would like a draft of my story...
she liked the idea of a coffee table book of the renders and captions of the story....
all and all a good show..it will be displayed till Jan6, then i have Animal clinic that wants some prints to hang in the lobby

I got antibiotics for my throat, I've about lost my voice, but I'm starting to feel better.
I am so glad people listened so attentively to your story, and listened to the history of the Orbs. I don't think you are tilted in your view of art...perhaps you have chosen a path that best expresses your vision and your ideas about the universe and our world. You enjoy and collect a great variety of art, but the art you choose to make is based on your own vision and the tools you use to express that vision. You are not a paint brush artist, but using a computer to create art is still art.
Tune out all the people trying to make you feel small by stating you are a beginner or mediocre artist...they are jealous of the attention you are getting. They are also envious of your perseverance and work ethic. Many people claim to be artists, talk a good line, but actually never produce anything. They basically bury their much lauded talent in the ground and never use it. What a waste! You work and produce continually, and put your money and mind in your art. I hope you continue to show elsewhere, follow up on the coffee table book, and I hope all your hopes and dreams come to fruition. Condense the story of the Orbs, explain what's happening in the pictures in detail, and TAH DAhhhh a Coffee Table Book by chrisntheboat...Iwould buy one...

Am happy that you have some medication for the soreness...you will be good as new soon enough! I do love creating these works Annie and it is not for attention or to be popular..it is to get critique from real artist such as yourself and the others who wise words help me get better at my craft.I have countless hours of script that i would like to add to the render comments, but..1. I do not want to give to much of the story away,,2. I will agree that more in depth explanations are due to those who follow the story(I will work on that) 3. Sometime I am to Lazy
to write anything..
the coffee table book will be 17"W x 14" and have 50 renders with a blank page in between and descriptor to the left side page or the right, not quite sure yet.Where do you think script should go?
And I would like to use some type of Gothic font that is easily readable. these are going to be leather bound, limited to a series of 200. they will cost much $$$*think album style* signed renders and numbered editions, each story detail hand written onto the albums paper...I have about 15 sold already...
you are a trooper for sure Annie and I appreciate your advise!
