Ed was a self-proclaimed “professional street racer.” His skills got him far in races, and he began to rest on his loreals, foolishly taking on horrendous bets because he thought he could win. When Odell caught wind of Ed’s arrogance, he decided to shut up the rookie.

Odell challenged Ed to a street race. Straight down 17th street for a mile. The loser does whatever the winner says, within the legal boundaries, for the whole day. Foolishly Ed accepted, and he took an early lead in the race. Odell knew Ed was arrogant, proving to be Ed’s downfall. With a quarter-mile left in the race, Ed began to cheer prematurely that he beat the elite Odell, but his excitement turned into panic as Odell sped past him to win. Embarrassed, Ed tried every excuse in the book, but it was futile. He had lost.

Odell, with a smile, requested Ed put on some of the clothes his girlfriend had left in the back seat. Submitting to defeat, Ed put on the girly clothes and would spend the day posing next to the winning car, performing gestures and positions which Odell requested. The evening would be spent as the flag girl for the more successful street racers. Maybe some time as the flag girl will humble young Ed. Hopefully, he doesn’t blow his cover prematurely, or he’ll be in for a bigger punishment.
