has a contest, and I have an entry!
I really pushed myself and made an effort, because I love *Losmios . 
It's her gorgeous character Stillcloud. I know the sky is ... bare, but I tried a few things and it didn't seem right - in the end the simple colour was best. Adobe photoshop, and about a day of drawing!

This is very pretty, I love how shiny the coat is. The reflection isn't "correct" it doesn't look bad at all, and reflections are a pain to do, this tutorial is pretty good to explain: [link]
From this angle it seems like the reflection should have just been a direct mirror of the horse

I like the concept and the water reflection is very well done. However, there is something odd about the hoof on the left front leg, it's sort of cramped backwards. When the front leg is pointing that straight forward, the hoof points its downside to the ground. Sounds a bit complicated... sorry. You can see an example here: [link] I don't want to spoil it for you, I think your picture is beautiful!

Anyway, this is an AMAZING bit of work here... I'm completely blown away. You've definitely spent a lot of time on it, and it's very obvious. The tone and colors... the incredible detail... it's just amazing.

Wow! Gorgeous coloring! The painterly, shining coat is masterfully done. I love the horn, too--it's so shiny looking, and reflects his color well, too. ^_^ My only suggestion on here is that the bank of the river looks really straight...but I suppose the water could be very level with the bank's edge.

Hmmm...the horse looks wonderful, its amazingly beautiful, but the rest of the picture is lacking compared to it. The horse is perfect but the rest of it looks unfinished against it. It would probably be nice to see some more darks and lights in the grass and the pool of water's edge needs some more random movements to it because right now it just looks like you put it down with some shape tool or something.

oooh i love broken coloured horses, prbly cos i had a rather special one as a kid. these piece is gorgeous! i love the sheen and dappling on the coat, and i think the plain backgound works really well, you wouldn't want it to be too busy and detract attention from the horse!

heehee thanks! well i'm from the north east of scotland and have always been fascinated by all the old local legends and myths, especially those that are horse related!
and y'know i like to hang around lochs and lure weary travellers to a watery grave.....
