I love this! But i still can't help but laugh at this..It looks like Frollo is trying to sleep, but somene next-door is like blasting music, or doing something loud that is making stay awake. And hes all "...HMMM....." with his blood shut eyes.

Tell me, would you mind waking up next to him?
...
That would be pretty awkward in my case.
1.I am a guy, soulless ginger.
2.I am too tall and no matter what kind and how long bed I have...My feet will always stick out of the edge - which is even more awkward than waking up next to Judge.
3.The idea of waking up next to some older, french, medieval guy never really crossed my mind before so ,automatically, it would be an awkward surprise

Oh dont be dat wai! You know I am kidding *pat pat*. That's really nice picture and good using of blue tones - makes me DESIRE to master watercolors!

Howlingmojo In reply to AleksDeSilesia [2011-10-06 10:29:40 +0000 UTC]

So you're a tall, soulless ginger who is immune to tickling eh? *mykindaguy*

*pokes*

I'm sure the Froll-meister wouldn't be too pleased to see you either, seeing as he's dead set on raven hair and a sassy attitude ( but Sheesh, is the book Esmeralda ever a dumb little thing!)

Watercolours are wonderful. When you start with them on a piece, you're like ohfuckohfuck, I ruined it, but if you keep at it, structure emerges beneath the chaos.I love using them now.

"Yourkindaguy" prefers young, medieval priests/apostates

Btw, i don't think the book Esmeralda IS dumb, but it would be really long discussion filled with quotes from half of the book, so maybe someday...

Actually, I am trying some watercolors right now. I would post a few effects on DA -simply, Dom Claude Frollo is my muse- but I am not sure if my scaner will cooperate with that old, horrible laptop (my personal PC is at the doctor )

Ah, mykindaguy has good taste then. No worries here mate No I didn't necessarily mean she is dumb, harsh word that, but very naive . I'm in the middle of re-reading the book myself. But to be honest, I am reading with Frollo-tinted glasses, so a lot of dialogue is teeth-gnashing, if that makes sense at all.

Ah, I hope your PC gets better soon. Mine has the unfortunate habit of BSOD-ing on me when I run large programs. Like Photoshop. Sigh. Would love to see the final result though!

I've said this in every place it can be said, but this is one (if not THE) of the best works you've ever done. Just out of this world. I am doing some serious fantasising using this piece. You never cease to amaze me, babe.

Howlingmojo In reply to TeddyRadiator [2011-10-05 21:01:07 +0000 UTC]

Writewritewrite write me Frollo and Esmeralda, giving into their passions for each other, playing games with one another. Relentlessly pursuing one another. Because you do that so damn well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TeddyRadiator In reply to Howlingmojo [2011-10-05 21:17:18 +0000 UTC]

I want to. I am floundering in this fic that I am pinch hitting with, and it is destoying my soul to write it. Seriously depressing me, because I wanted to write it, but now that I am, I hate it. I need to immerse myself in the sensuous dream that is Fresme, and write with the abandon that Frollo brings out in me. I love his Dominance. You once spoke of reversing the roles; I can do that effortlessly with Severus/Hermione, but I cannot do it with Frollo, and with the liberating clarity of knowing I'm failing miserably at this present task, I can freely admit that I don't want to make Claude Frollo submit - I want to kneel, not be knelt to.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Howlingmojo In reply to TeddyRadiator [2011-10-05 21:34:38 +0000 UTC]

Floundering is a word I can personally relate to very well. I understand slipping into a mode where you have to perform, because you're under a self imposed dead-line, or a target. but the truth of the matter is you can't force creativity. Perhaps your muse is telling you to revert to the writing you want to do. Perhaps if you allow fun to seep back into your written words, you will find that other writings will flow easier as well.

It's the same for me. Heaven knows I have enough art projects, but then I remind myself that I am doing this for fun. Sitting myself down and forcing pen and brushes onto paper will only allow for frustration to be nurtured, and it should be the creativity instead.

My two cents!

And your description of Claude is spot on. I've struggled with this too in writing This Night(mare). He won't do it. Period. It means finding a different way of teaching him to express vulnerability.

TeddyRadiator In reply to Howlingmojo [2011-10-05 23:43:06 +0000 UTC]

I agree. Ultimately, you have to know your character. That is why I love Severus so much. I have made him vulnerable, Dominant, coarse, elegant, cruel, sexy and loving; he is yin and yang to me, and I know him. Frollo is more steadily defined, and I see him as Severus' uncle - the forceful, Dominant, imperious man that men wish to emulate and strong women tremble before.

I am a strong woman - Dominant, commanding and tough, but with a Dominant man, I am a pussy cat - I mean, I just melt. It's like listening to Howlin' Wolf. He sounds so commanding and fierce and Dominating, and I just turn into a puddle listening to him. He is the vocal equivalent of Alan Rickman's speaking voice or Frollo's stern, angular face.

I think the best way to express his vulnerability is purely in his desire to be the best Dominant for Esme. All true Dominants are the true slaves of the relationship - their actions are determined by what their submissives can take and will allow. That's why you can't have one without the other.

BTW, did I ever send you the files to my original The Family - the one I wanted you to do some illustrations for?
