Description
Looking through DA at some of the unbelievable, working (and frankly amazing!) steampunk creations that people make, I was inspired to make a much smaller, and sadly non-working Tesla inspired necklace.Featuring a little glass fuse, vintage bead caps, beads, cogs & gears, I came up with the Mini Tesla Device. Any self-respecting tinkerer shouldn't be without.
Some of my jewellery is available to purchase:

because i have had a tesla inspired device on the go for some time. i want to take apart about 60 of those glass fuses and fill them with blue dyed water with a LED strip behind them to make them glow and i've made it work just not in those glass fuses. ive also tinkered with c02 canisters air hose fittings and tubing to make a pressurized system on this little device that actually causes the air pressure gauge to move up and down rapidly when the power is turned on. all and all its just an ash tray that weights about ten pounds. glowing orange base, a fish tank bubbler hooked up to long glass tubes filled with neon green liquid. an air pressure gauge and a electrical panel with three toggle switches that light a green yellow and red light which all that really does other then turning on the lights is the LED strip, the bubbler, and the orange light in the bottom. once its done i plan on posting it on here. but i cant get the fuses apart without heating them up with a lighter which blackens the metal which i cant clear off

Very nice. An idea would be to get a Tritium vial to replace the fuse, thus giving it a nice glow.

What's weird is that looking at this thing gave me the inspiration for making a PLAUSIBLE steampunk lightsaber/Big Frakking Sword!
The big clunky bits? Those are the modulation/generation components, and suprisingly light; a thin cord of extremely conductive metal born of mad science to refract electrical currents extends as the 'blade', and when activated, electricity streams along it!
STEAMPUNK IS AWESOME. (thanks for the inspiration.)

And thank you, the nicest thing anyone could ever say is that some of my work has inspired them. Thankies!

This piece is made up of different things, I used a fuse, a stone setting, brass bead caps & cogs to make it up.

Ooo, this is too cool! I've seen some nifty steampunk around here, and I've seen a lot that just has a gear and a wing charm and CALLED steampunk, but this is one of the good ones that captures my imagination and makes me stop and wonder, "What if?"
Beautiful job!

I really have to tell you how much I love this piece. While most of the steampunk jewelry I see on DA are just keys with gears tacked on to them, this one shows thought and creativity. I love the simplicity of it, while still retaining beauty and elegance, and the craftsmanship is superb. Great work!

Nicely done! All the pieces really come together quite naturally, you would never guess it was assembled from various bits. Impressed
I was looking at all those irresistible little fuses at the hardware store (uhmmm, hardware *grins*) but chickened out using some for a wristband being afraid they'd break and the wearer would cut himself. But a pendent works!
