Description
Hi there, here is a set of environment I'm working on recently.I plan to do a point and click adventure fan game this year. It'll be non commercial. Never know whether my friends and I can survive till the end.
Please tell me what you think of them. I tried to adopt some matte painting techniques to make them less sketchy, but still ended up repaint everything myself.

Hello e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

First of all I have to say, that I like those drawings a lot.
And the color composition is great in all three pictures, though I like the last one the most.
I can imagine walking on this road, not knowing what is waiting for me around the next corner. The longer I look at it, the more I get this strange feeling of comfort and discomfort at the same time. I get this "to good to be true" feeling, probably because of those blueish colors on the right side. But thats the most interesting part for me. I could stare at it for hours, still wondering whether this is a peaceful scene or not.
I also like your drawing technique in this picture. In the second picture it's a bit too sketchy but those few little details and textures in the third, makes it look like a great scene from a fantasy game.
In my opinion that's the best suited picture for a point and click adventure.
The first one is the most original concept with it's golden "fountains"(sorry, I don't find a proper description). They are capturing your eye at first sight but also inviting you to take a closer look.
The house looks very japanese, very peaceful. I also love this large tree. Does it have a purpose? Would be really cool, it's very unusual.
The second picture is very nice too, but the large rock dosn't seem to fit the scene. It's tall and big and kind of comes out of nowhere. I could imagine a statue, a small temple or something instead of it. I guess that would support the feeling that you're looking at some sort of a japanese garden.
Also the mood in the third picture is very different. When I look at picture 1 and 2, I feel like they could actually exist. That's different with the picture 3. It looks more like a fantasy/mystery game. I looks unreal, like a dream.
You did a great job drawing those amazing pictures. I love the concepts and I'm excited to see the game.
(So my english's not the best and I'm sorry for that. I hope my critique is useful for you anyway.)

Yes, it's just a block shaped brush dotted with some texture.

Thank you. The third one is a more natural scene while the first is set to be the hint of mystery in the game.

The last one takes most time, although I don't count it. It depends on how much detail and texture I apply.
