So there ya go!...
man I'm in vacation with a crappy internet conection and I'm working on my laptop which I'VE NEVER used to draw befoire... so excuse me if this is so much crummier then my usual stuff... *sigh*
Anyways, partnered up with *Arriscas for this. It was pretty fun and just to show of how Lavvy can actually be nice... in certain situations... Especially if you're the one to ask for a battle, even though you're a relative noob... No offense, Flan. XD

Anyways I will post the RP stuff here, just to show you the action bits I had to cut off because of time and problems and yada yada... Also the reason some lines are different in the comic then in the text RP is because I lacked the text to keep as a refference, not because I wanted to change them...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After their aptitude test was done, the very next day, the trainer lined up the recruits again and started giving out the new task: the reflex test.
"Mornin' soldiers!
We grouped here again to pass your second test (final in our case). Everyone who doesn't succeed goes home, those who pass will pick which military squad they will join.
Back to our test. We are going to test your reflexes. Are you sure you are fast enough? Skilled enough? Brave enough, to protect yourself, the people surrounding you, even more, protect mankind ?
This test may seem silly to you but is more than it does seem." The trainer instructed coldly. "Now you should go ahead and pick a partner!"
"Partner?" Lavvy groaned at the though out loud, getting his attention once again. "Seriously, having to work with some loser and..." She paused her thought, before smirking. "...kick his ass in a spar, huh?"
Noticing her groan, the trainer approached her, looking a bit angrier then usual. "You got a problem again, Maruku?!"
Lavvy just smirked. "No, sir! Eager to start, sir!"
The trainer gave an unconvinced look, but didn't question further.
Flan glanced towards Lavvy, letting out a sigh in the process. 'Her again, huh...' She thought, before turning her attention away. She knew the girl only because the trainer kept calling her attention, but Flan found Lavvy rather hasty and irrational.
Soon after the trainer was done speaking everyone scattered to find a partner. Some went with friends so as to avoid the tough ones, while others picked their partners based on challenge level. Flan let her eyes roam looking for a partner she thought interesting. Everyone was quickly pairing up and there weren't many left. Her eyes fell on Lavvy again and she sighed yet again. 'You've got to be-...' She stopped her train of thought as she thought deeper about it. They had different ways of fighting and dealing with difficult situations from what she could tell so far, having watched the other trained and act. While Lavvy was more action, Flan was more logical. 'It might get interesting...' And so, letting a smile play on her lips, Flan walked over to the other.
Lavvy huffed, seing everyone scatter, and currently partnerless while the others already started their training. "Figures... don't wanna mess with the big fish, huh?" She thought to herself, annoyed slightly.
Her attention was so focused on the stronger looking trainees, that she didn't even notice the skinnier girl approaching.
Flan stopped a couple of steps away from Lavvy observing the other. She waited a moment, watching the tomboy girl look around, noticing how she seemed to look for the more muscly and tougher-looking trainees.
Flan let a boring look take over her face, one hand resting on her hip before she spoke up. "Are you looking for someone in particular?" She stopped for a few seconds to see the other's reaction. "If not, why not partner with me? I'm not particularly... picky." There was an intentional paused before her last word, trying to let her words sink in, her look of someone not really interested in her opponent but enough to want to see where things would lead. Arrogance was not what she was trying to portrait, she was simply trying to provoke.
Lavvy twitched slightly at the voice, getting her attention fully with that last word, before turning to face the other girl... not exactly looking at what she expected."....you have a lot of guts, don't ya, small fry?" She commented, but surprisingly smirked back. "I like that..."
Flan smirked slightly before opting for another neutral expression. Catching the other girl's attention and interest was successful but Flan herself wasn't sure about her own rate of success in the combat department.
The other was clearly above in terms of physical skills, it was plain obvious. Not mention, Flan wasn't that fond of the way she spoke to her, calling her a "small fry", but she wasn't going to point that out. Flan decided she would take that as a praise... for now.
Looking at Lavvy in the eyes she moved to stand in front of the other but leaving enough space between them.
"You don't look like someone who relies on weapons. Which is fine, since I don't plan on using the wooden knife anyways." Flan took a couple of steps back and waited. Her stance wasn't one you'd expect in a fight. Instead of her arms raised to her head, they were resting at her sides and one leg behind the other. It looked like she was just standing there, but her eyes on focused on her opponent as saying 'Come at me'.
Lavvy huffed, taking up the knife. "What ticked you off, the scars?" Although she hated it, Flan was right. She didn't like using knives especially, so she didn't know how to use them right. But this was a training after all, and it was a woden knife.. so she could be a bit harsh without killing.
She got into position, only mimmicking the street punks she's seen carying knives and such. But still kept smirking...before rushing up to her in an upper down stab, most commonly used.
Flan was about to reply but stopped herself when she saw Lavvy rushing up to her.
Using her agility, she side-stepped to the side and used her momentum to grab the other's wrist, pressing it so that the girl would lessen the grip on the knife. Flan wasn't an experts in fights, not even close, she could only rely on what she was taught by the books, the techniques and tips. It wasn't enough to tell if the other was used to knifes or not but Flan was not about to lose her upper hand. "Actually, it was your lack of brain." She kept provoking, smirking.
Flan bent her knees and took a swipe of one of her legs at Lavvy's shins. From what she knew, those were one of the vulnerable spots of the human body and the only way she could win the other with, her intelligence. She would have gone for the knee caps but if she managed to hit, even without that much strength, it could become very painful and cause serious injuries to the legs and she did not wish for such. It was training after all.
Lavvy grunted, suprised, as her grab was pretty, quick, but then smirked, as she pulled her leg away to lessen the hit on the shins. While Flan was smart, Lavvy had more muscle mass and sheer habit of being a brawler since she was a kid, so her instincts were honed. "Your talk is cheap, small fry..." She proceeded to place her other leg fast in the ground, before aiming a punch with her other hand.
Flan grunted, sing her plan to make Lavvy fall fail.
She had not time to process enough information for the other girl was already on her next move and Flan barely had time to react. She immediately let go of the wrist and used her other arm to protect herself.
She hissed at the impact, already expecting a black bruise to form from the level of pain. The force however was enough to send her toppling to the ground, specially since she was already close to the ground.
Her eyes widened when she realized she was seating on the ground and it took her a few seconds to react to her defeat. She looked up, glaring at Lavvy. For a moment she forgot about the rules and aimed a kick for the side of the knee. 'I AM supposed to send her to the ground. Might as well do it my way!'
Her ground kick hit but, once again, Lavvy balanced by falling forward and stopping herself with her left arm, over Flan quickly, aiming her knife arm down at her stomach area, before smirking wincing. "Nice try, small fry... But I can already tell you've never done something like this before, huh?"
Flan glared angrily at Lavvy, then moved her attention to the knife pointing at her stomach. No matter how hard it was to admit, she had lost. She might be good at strategy and 3D manoeuvring, but when it came to close combat, she was at a clear disadvantage, and this had only served to prove it to her. Her intelligence was not enough to place her ahead of those with experience and muscles.
Flan smirked, finally letting her defeat sink in. "You've got that right. You're not as stupid as I thought it seems." She looked up to Lavvy's face again. "It's my loss... this time." She let it trailed passing on the message that she wouldn't lose next time, be it at different circumstances.
Before she stood, she waited for Lavvy to remove the wooden knife.
Lavvy smirked. "Awwww, small fry, you shouldn't be so disappointed... It offered me a nice adrenaline rush." She said, getting back up and removing the knife, before tossing it to Flan. "How's about we see what you can do on the offensive? After all, it's a two way training." She smirked, warming up a bit. " And the advantage of knives is, after all, the fact that you don't need muscles to get a stab in..."

Flan's eye twitched. The nickname "small fry" was starting to get on her nerves, but she chose not to say anything.
She caught the knife with one of her hands and moved to a standing position. She didn't let her nervousness show on her features as she was less confident on the offensive. What she tried before was more of a self-defense technique (minus that last kick) but she was a little lost on what to do with the knife.
Flan moved her feet apart and held the knife with both her hands. "I hope you're ready." She was aware that one of her best options was relying on her agility and she did exactly that. Her opponent was perhaps as fast if she wanted, but she focused on not losing momentum. She made a dash and thrust her hands forwards aiming for the abdomen.
Lavvy smirked. "Born ready..." She said, before ducking, and twisting her body around, in order to try and trip Flan with a swipe kick.
On the offense, Flan learned the hard way that is was much harder to defend herself. Lavvy ducking took her off guard and before she knew, she was swipe kicked and seeing herself fall forward to the ground again. Flan gritted her teeth and tried to hold her weight on her free hand to stop the fall. She was well aware that her position was anything but graceful at this point.
She wiped her head in in the direction of the other and swiped her other arm, gripping the knife harder for that spot at the back of the neck which looked most vulnerable at the moment.
Lavvy turned around slowly, slightly surprised at the quick rebound. She quickly turned her body around however, grabbing unto the knife arm, just a few inches away from her face. "Ho ho... close..." She smirked to herself.
Flan widened her eyes for a split second then sneered and let go of the knife instantly. Stepping the ground hard, she jumped forward in and attempt to push the other to the ground.
Lavvy blinked, taken back by the weird strategy. She did not expect to go for such an agreesive push. "Whoah whoah whoah!" She blinked, , unprepared to hold Flan up, before toppling back to the ground hitting it hard, wincing. "Ouf!"
Flan blinked, surprised her strategy had actually worked. Both of them went hitting the ground.
Taking a few moments to compose herself, Flan moved away from Lavvy and straddled her between her legs as she kneeled on top of her. That last action was more instinct that anything she had done before but she couldn't deny it had helped her. A wide grin showed on her face and she pumped her hands up in victory. "Yes!" Her first ever win in hand-to-hand combat.
She stood up, looked back down at Lavvy and offered a hand. "Sorry about that. Are you alright?"
Lavvy winced, and huffed, slowly, before smirking. "Heh... Now ya see what you need to win real fights..." She smirked, grabbing the arm, before huffing... and laughing. "Too bad you forgot the stab part!"

Flan scoffed and pulled Lavvy up. For a girl, the other sure was tall. "Like I said, I didn't plan on using the wooden knife. At least to win. I'm not familiar with those." She glanced to the girl's scars. "I didn't think you'd like them either."
She patted her clothes that had gotten dirty during the training then smiled to Lavinia. "Those were some impressive moves you did. Makes me realize I have a lot to learn in that department."
She then held a hand for a handshake. "The name's Flan, by the way. Flan Boyle. But don't think you're better than me, eejit." She used the Irish slang on purpose for all those times Lavvy had called her "small fry". It was something big, considering Flan rarely used slang.
"Yeah, in truth just one of my scars was caused by a knife."Lavvy then huffed at her attempt to annoy her. "Ya know, insults are far less efective if the other person doesn't know what they mean." She smirked. "But then again, words are cheap in general..."
She grabbed the hand, squeezing it in a firm grip. "Lavinia Maruku. or Lavvy for short. Pretty sure by now people around here learned my last name at least..." She let go of the tight grip. "Ya know, you're not as bad or as annoying as most people I've seen around here... At least you didn't whine at nicknames."
Flan snickered. "Yeah, I knew you before challenging you to be my partner, thanks to your 'big mouth'." She returned the grip then crossed her arms in front of her when Lavvy released her hand. "You're not as annoying yourself. I have yet to get used to so many people around here." She gave a single nod. "With this kind of personality and skills, I think the Scouting Legion would benefit the most, if you ever get lost on your decision in the end. It seems they prefer the bold and strong ones, but that's just my take on it..." She turned on her heels and waved back while walking away. "Well I'm off to see if I can find another interesting partner. See you around, Lavvy."

..i'm awkwardly am to admit. Untill the last panel i mistook the scar for a snazzy toothpick.

Hmm~ despite the whole "Omiguergd what iz time" its looking good, the panels are nicely devided and the background is detailed enough to get an image of the training area they are currently on but is not taking the atention away from the action in front~
