Description
Please Full-view, this thing is hueg. HUEG LIEK X-BOX.My oarfish merman, Devon. Due to his long body and shoulder fins, he is sometimes mistaken as a serpent or a dragon, but he's just an oarfish. With a spear.
I never want to render underwater lighting effects again. orz

You'll like figure drawing. I liked figure drawing (also known as life drawing) only don't make the mistake I did and smile friendly at a male model who has already disrobed.

Drawing other views of him might give you a richer perspective of his anatomy though even simplified sketchs could prove challenging since his body is so complex. Would this drawing exercise help you?...

That's actually a really good idea. My current drawing class doesn't cover figure drawing or anatomy, so everything I know I had to figure out for myself, so yes, that could help.
....Next semester I'll take a figure drawing class...

I would love to see how you imagined his fin-wings from a backside view, someday. Do you have any concept drawings you can show?...

Not any on hand, but I can probably draw up some fairly quickly.

Oarfish! They're preeeetty! I like the effects, though I can see why they would be a pain to do again and again. XD
