You're very welcome!Β

Quite alright, it still looks more realistic compared to entirely featherless models, as people tend to overexagratte the latest speculations

Hmm, interesting. You make the models yourself.

Youre doing very good! Would probably by best to give them a bit more muscle, fat, y'know, for realism. Also more feathers, obviously, but I understand the problems of running on a low-budget CGI program.

What I could suggest is animating the toes while walking. Feet don't really move like that, they aren't completely flat-footed all the time. It would be best to make the heel come up first and the toes bend as the come up off the ground. Look at Scott Hartman's skeletals or the walk cycles of birds to get what I'm saying.

Great sound work, too? How do you design the dinosaur voices?

I think the T.rex one looks best, as you use the models in positions other than profile.

Maybe....I dont know. Definitely wouldn't strip to scales, if that's what you're thinking, that would make no sense. Feathers are a much better thermoregulators than fur, they actually LOSE heat with them.

HUBLERDON In reply to TheAquariumSlider [2015-12-01 16:16:12 +0000 UTC]

Dude, what about Abelisaurs, which were definitely scaly? Or Raisuchians? Or crocodylimorphs?Β

Everybody, please stop this "ruined childhood" crap. Science is ever-changing field, what is established as fact one day can be completely altered by new edvidence tomorrow. Β Dinosaurs were real animals, not monsters. Dinosaurs would not know or care wether or not they would be considered "scary" by a species that exists millions of years ahead of them. Besides, does a covering of fur-like protofeathers somehow detract from the fact that Tyrannosaurs had the most powerful bite-force of any known animal, had banana-sized teeth that could crush bone, saliva dripping with sceptic bacteria, and arms that could lift two tons? We wouldn't know any of this either, if not for new scientific discoveries.

I am a bit confused with this one. I know that fluffy rexes are very popular recently but is there any new knowledge to back this up? Β From what I saw here we still only get scale impressions from the T.Rex. Β agentlemanscientist.deviantart…

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HUBLERDON In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2015-11-13 15:47:24 +0000 UTC]

It's based largely off Arvalis's research for Saurian:Β arvalis.deviantart.com/art/Sau… though it could have actually had MORE feathering. Feathers are much better thermoregulators than fur.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to HUBLERDON [2015-11-13 19:42:12 +0000 UTC]

Interesting. Still, I am not convinced completely.. He mentions example of dinosaurs with scaly tails, but none of them is colesly related to T.Rex. Yutyrannus on the other hand had feathers on it's tail, T. Rex didn't have them there. Also thinkinf of elephant and mammonth, these animals are closely related yet in terms of skin covering they differ much...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HUBLERDON In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2015-11-14 02:24:46 +0000 UTC]

I believe it's most likely Tyrannosaurs only were only scaly on their undersides, like Ornitholestes.Β

Actually, mammoths and elephants aren't a very good model for dinosaurs. Remember, feathering is very different from fur, and can thermoregulate much better. A large animal is actually at a disadvantage without feathers.
