You run home, trying to run from the names, the voices that you hear at school. Tears are falling as you run down the streets of London. You barge into the townhouse you call home, and throw the bag down, your headphones quickly coming over your head, blasting it so loud that you forget what is around you. You punch the wall of your room so hard the wall crumbles under your fist, and punch again creating a whole, once more and your knuckles are bleeding. You grab your sleeveless coat, and walk outside, a scowl on your face.
"Oi? Who are you?" a man in a nice suit and converse says to himself. He follows you around, and you notice it, but you ignore it, not wanting to acknowledge the weirdly charismatic man following you. You walk into an alley, and he follows you. You slide the earphones to the side a little, you you can still hear the blasting music.
"Why are you following me?!" you practically yell.
"Woah...I just wanted to ask you something"
"You couldn't have just gotten my attention?" the scowl never left your face.
"Have you ever seen space"
"Course. Just look up"
"No...not like that. C'mon. This way" he turns on his heels with a little skip in his step. Oddly curious, you walk behind him till he leads you to a small blue police box.
"I thought these were from the 60s..." you wonder out loud.
"Well...yeah. Whats your name, anyway?"
"(First Name), (full name). What about yourself? If I may ask before I could be kidnapped..."
"The Doctor"
"Doctor who?" You ask.
"Just the Doctor, and this is the TARDIS" He explains. "It's a time and space machine, and I want to take you somewhere. I can bring you back to this exact time, so no one will miss you."
You cock your head to the side, and shrug.
"Why not? Lets do this, it seems kinda small though...." He slides a key into the lock and turns it, the door sliding gently open. He ushers you inside, and it is huge!
"It's bigger on the inside!" You exclaim, running your hand across the railing.
"Really? I hadn't noticed!" You glare at him.
"Right!" He jumps up, his flippy hair shaking, and he loosens his tie, throwing the coat to the side. "All of time and space, where do you wanna go?"
"Anywhere. You choose. I don't even know where...You choose, maybe I'll choose later"
"That seems fair" He pulls the bobbles, and turns a lever, and the whole room shakes, making you grip the railing. A smile cracks across your face. "Your smiling" His goofy smiling looking back. You quickly hide it away.
"No, I wasn't" He quirks an eyebrow.
"You hide yourself away so much, let the world see your smile mate, it's a nice one."
He opens the door, and smiles at your reaction. Your jaw drops and you let your hand run along silver colored leaves.
"Welcome to the planet Diamond 67. The trees are silver, and the townspeople are very nice....and orange." You walked into a store that sold food- you were starving. You see a person, you assumed that what it was anyway, who had orange skin and shiny teeth.
"Hi! Do you need anything?" you smiled at her.
"No. I'm good, but thanks" You see exotic cakes and cookies that looked almost too thin to be food- they were paper thin. You spent hours wandering around in amazement at this different world, their different customs; it was just amazing. The Doctor followed you around, happy that he could do something for you-you were happy, a boy who never seemed to smile, who had such a hard time letting people in, smiling, talking, laughing, and you looked like you were glowing.
"You want to go back home?" He asked you as it started to get dark.
"I love it here, it's amazing, it's a different culture and its fantastic!" You say rather loudly.
"I'm glad you think so. You looked like you could use some cheering up"
"You're right. I definitely did. I haven't been this happy in years!" You exclaim. You hop into the TARDIS, climbing the steps to sit on the console. The TARDIS hums.
"hey, I'm not that bad!" You look at the ceiling.
"Wait, you can understand her?"
"Yeah...can most people not?"
"No...hold on" he buzzes a thing over you.
"whats that?"
"Sonic screwdriver, you shouldn't be able to understand that." He looks at it. "You have a lot of mental disorders, did you know that?"
"Yes, thanks for reminding me." you roll your eyes, not liking the fact that he knew this about you now.
"Aspergers? Bipolar? Schizophrenia?"
"Yes" You almost hiss.
"Do you know what that does to your mind?"
"It makes me a fucked up schitzo faggot, yes I do"
"No, no, no, no, no. It makes you special! It's why you can understand her! It's amazing! You're not any of that! You're amazingly brilliant!"
"No, I'm really not."
"You don't believe it, do you?"
"No..because I'm not."
"You are a 16 year old boy with an IQ higher than Einstein. That's kind of smart." He explains. He pulls a lever, the TARDIS jerking again. He opens the door, and you see the alley you had left in. "You are brilliant. Very very brilliant." He gives you a key with a button on it. "If you need anything, even to just run away, just press the button, and if I don't come right away, know that I'll come as soon as I can. Okay?" You smile, a very toothy smile, and hugged him.
"Oof. You're strong" You let go, and hop off the console floor, and open the door.
"Thanks Doctor, really." You close the door, pulling the headphones back over your head, and press play, and shove your hands in you pockets. You smile as you kick a rock along the sidewalk. This strange man had changed you more than you could think.
