Description
This is something I have been pondering ever since seeing Inside Out (spoilers: it's a great film, you gotta see it if you haven't) - if the trains have emotions in their heads, how do the emotions handle their actions? How can they make a character react to their enviornment and their peers? I'd like to see what you can come up with. Anyway, I felt like finding out for myself by showing the emotions of our #1 blue engine.EMOTION - MAIN COLOR with LINING, LETTER/NUMBER LINING AND RUNNING PLATE, and WHEEL TRIMMINGS
Joy - yellow with blue, light green and golden lining
Sadness - light blue with blue, light gray, and pale blue lining
Fear - lavender with purple, dark red, and pale blue lining
Disgust - light green with green, pale green and purple lining
Anger - red with golden, brown, and orange lining
Oh, and if you're wondering - Fear has purple eyes, and Anger has reddish/brown eyes. I added flames coming out of his funnel for a laugh
If you're also wondering this, here are a few examples of Thomas displaying each emotion: (I'm sure there's more for each, but you get the basic idea)
Joy: When he recieves his branchline (Thomas and the Breakdown Train)
Sadness: When he's accused for being a "regular law breaker" (Thomas in Trouble)
Fear: When Percy pretends to be a ghost to scare him (Ghost Train)
Disgust: When he first meets Terence and insults him (Thomas, Terence and the Snow)
Anger: When he accuses Percy for getting him dirty on purpose (Thomas, Percy and the Coal)
I've even thought of rewriting a classic Thomas story in style of Inside Out - basically, how the emotions of each character act and react to what happens in real life. I feel like trying out Thomas and the Guard and/orΒ Dirty Objects to see how it could work.

Excited to see this movie in the cinema sometime this week or such very nice!
Hey, not sure if you are getting this: I recently asked 'SodorMatchMaker' about him making some sprite illustrations for a project of mine, and he said something about them being based on yours: (Discard the following if you got the message already)
I'm not sure if you're interested, but I'm working on said project that I have of mine called the archives -Β
It includes an info table and backstory ofΒ (to which I have edited/kept the same, it depends.)Β
many characters of Tugs, Thomas, or a select few series I have chosen.
I posted a thread on SiF announcing it, but there was a lot of backlash about "permissions" and such. Of course, I will do this later, but while I am working on it, it remains private. As I (and a friend of mine) are working on it, we realize there is quite a lack of illustration: whether it be no illustration, or a picture that just isn't clear.Β
Based on some of your exceptionally well detailed and well-made sprites that I have seen, I am interested in seeing if you would like to help me illustrate some sprites for a select group of said tugboats and locomotivesΒ (Since there will be a whole ton of characters, I will probably need more than just drawing425 (another sprite-ist I have recruited) to make the illustrations I need.)
Here's the thing. I will not have you or any other spriters for that matter, work on it until I know for absolute certain I will be posting it on SiF, so for now I was just inquiring as to if you were interested in doing something like that in the future.Β Until then, (again, if you are interested) I could give you one of the engines to make a sprite off as an 'inaugural illustration', if you may.Β

Well all five are good but, did Thomas really get angry like that when Percy had dumped coal dust all over him?

haven't had the time, and if you think about it, maybe Lauren Faust is a Trekkie because why else would she have created the parasprites, which are an homage to the tribbles, (adorable critters that eat and reproduce) as well, as having Mr. John De Lancie voice Discord which is an homage to Q. It goes further in the comics where Discord has a pet goldfish named Q. Plus, Luna's pet is named Tiberius, the middle name of Captain Kirk. Plus, you've had in the comics ponies with the insignia of Starfleet, One of Shining's old nerd friends had a bath'let, which is a sword used in battle by Klingons, a poster referred to as Star Trot II, which is spoofing Star Trek II, the cover of one comic has Spike dressed as Geordi LaForge, and in the comic starring the CMC and old Discord, another reference

So which engine do you think would fit which emotion? Β Here's what I think. Β Also, since Thomas is going to be the Riley, I'll leave him out and focus on five of the other Sudrian Dozen (my name for the 12 main engines):
-Percy = Joy (he's usually optimistic)
-Toby = Sadness (mostly from some of his episodes from the HIT era giving him the "Eeyore" trope)
-Henry = Fear (I don't like Henry being a complete worrywart like he's been lately, but he definitely fits this emotion)
-Gordon = Disgust (it was a toss between him or James, but since Gordon thinks of himself as the most dignified engine of the Sudrian Dozen, I had to fit him in this category)
-James = Anger (it wasn't an easy decision, but when James isn't being cocky, he's usually more ill-tempered. Also, he's red, so it fits)
So what do you think?

HufflepuffBatboy In reply to MNich92 [2015-07-24 21:53:32 +0000 UTC]
I was kind of thinking James being a bit of Disgust, and Gordon a bit of Anger.

MNich92 In reply to HufflepuffBatboy [2015-07-24 22:09:11 +0000 UTC]
Hmm... probably. Β They can be interchangeable.
Anyway, do you like my name for the main engines (The "Sudrian Dozen")? Β I can explain to you how I came up with that name if you'd like.
