Description
A new bitbeast concept which came to me.I wanted to try something with a slightly different style to what I usually do, so I designed this one based on middle eastern culture. I know Pecocks are usually associated with India and with rain, but I was inspired by Yazidi traditions, and their peacock god Melek Taus (also called Tawsi Melek, and Kitan Melek), who is associated with being the sun's fire light. His tail is supposed to be a rainbow or an aurora of light that radiates from the sun, and is similar to the Ancient Egyptian sun disk (thus, the Egyptian gilding influences), which made me chose a fire affinity for this one.
I also aimed at taking influences from the Ifrit, which are smoke/fire demons in the Arabic legends, known for causing chaos, dissent and disrupting inner peace; they are seen as prideful, vain and arrogant. Since Melek Taus is a prideful god, and peacocks are also a symbol of vanity, this seemed fitting - along with the connections that folklorists have found between him and Shaytan - a prideful demon who tempts the pure in Islamic and Judao-Christian beliefs.
It has similarities to a Fenghuang or Hou-oh (the asian phoenixes), which are more coincidental than anything.

Name: Melekitan
Type: Fire
Technique Name: Erasmus Illumination
Description: A single orb of compressed flame is released above the beyblade; it compacts quickly, shrinking to a very small size, compacting the fire down into a ball of light. This quickly explodes, into one of two effects: 1) Blazing embers are scattered in all directions, peppering dish and the opponent's beyblade/bitbeast, followed by a shockwave of heat. 2) A blazing ring-shaped shockwave is released from the beyblade, to counter-attack the foe.
